Beautiful pool area, amazing buffet breakfast included with good coffee! Walking distance to old town, safe area. Nice balcony facing pool, good towel service. Helpful front desk staff. Very pleasant. Highly recommend.

We spent a week in AQUALUZ Lagos and enjoyed our stay. The hotel is some 15 minutes walk from the old town with all the restaurants and bars. Pool area is great, we always managed to find loungers whenever we needed them. The only disappointment was that the healthy breakfast options were limited, there was always some cut fruit, and yogurts, and a couple of cereals, no muesli or granola etc, just some oats.

The property was quite convenient and close to the beaches and city which made it perfect for walking and getting to explore Lagos. Staff was very pleasant (with one exception) and the breakfast was great. However, the property (outside of the room) was quite run down and needed work, the pictures unfortunately do not represent it being close to a 4 star hotel. Lots of the property is falling apart. Our experience with the front desk lady Carla was very unacceptable. We asked her where the Turkish Bath is located (as per the other nice and sweet front desk lady) and Carla told us “go ask the bar they should know”… and another time she even questioned us about asking for more beach/pool towels asking “where did ours go?”… as if we should be reusing our wet towels for a “4 star hotel”… it seemed like a burden for her to go find some new pool towels. For our two week trip to 6 different hotels in Spain and Portugal, this one had to be by far the worst one we experienced. Please note, all the other staff were friendly… however Carla needs to work on her professionalism if she wants to work in hospitality.

The way the information was displayed on Expedia it seemed like our room had a kitchenette, it did not. It was advertised to have restaurants, bars, kids pool and play center when we arrived it was all closed. For the price we paid hotel wasn’t worth it.

This is our 8th stay at Aqualuz since 2009 and we obviously love coming back as it ticks all the boxes for us. We started coming as a couple and now as a family of 4. For the second year running we were greeted by Emmanuel at reception who is extremely friendly and helpful along with others within the team who are all accommodating. The location is great along with the food at the hotel. See you next year!

Property was in a great area. Ten minute walk to old town Lagos with all of the restaurants and shops. Ten to fifteen min walk to 3 of the most amazing beaches. Beach towels were provided which was excellent for us. Hotel was in a safe area.

Overall, this hotel was great. The rooms were spacious and clean. Lots of amenities here in a great location. Breakfast was lovely with a large selection. The staff were always friendly and ready to help. The only cons - the place is quite large, and it took us almost 10 minutes to get from our room to the parking garage. We found a somewhat quicker way eventually, but it is super easy to get lost. Also, our cards quit working every time, and we had to go to the reception 3+ times to get new cards. Not a huge deal except the reception area was far from our room.

Construction site across the street and our bedroom backed onto the street, not desirable but in all fairness we just did not want to pack up and move to another room. Great shower and good location to old town. Best restaurant near by Calhou. Breakfast was plentiful but variation would be better. Front desk staff were excellent and breakfast staff always tried to address deficiencies. Good underground parking. Also the speaker music throughout the hotel started at 8 am and went to 11pm and seemed loud. Overall a good experience

Staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was plentiful but ordinary. No orange juice available, machine appeared broken several days in a row. We were in a spacious apartment style at road level so often a bit noisy. Twin bed mattresses not the best and bathroom fan was so noisy it sounded like a truck when you turned it on. Bathroom was otherwise modern with a great shower and great towels. Nice balcony overlooking pool. I have stayed at other Editory properties that put more effort into their breakfast. No tissues in room.

Déçue !

Grosse déception. Pour une fois que nous nous offrions un hôtel un peu "classe", quelle déception. Il faut savoir que l’hôtel est immense, construit autour de la piscine, il peut donc s'avérer que votre chambre soit très loin de l'entrée. Admettons, la vue sur piscine est sympa. Mais les services sont ben moindre par rapport aux guest houses : jus d'orange chimique (alors que partout ailleurs au Portugal, nous avons eu du jus d'orange fraichement pressé), 1/2 avant la fin du petit déjeuner, il n'y a plus de pain, plus de gâteaux, plus de fruits... les tables ne sont pas desservies et il faut pousser les plateaux et frotter sa table avec des serviettes papier pour pouvoir s'installer. Nous avons demandé du pain : 20mn d'attente pour en avoir ... etc. C'est la première fois en toute une vie que j'ai été signaler tous ses manques à la réception. J'avais fait une demande spéciale via la messagerie de hotel.com, ils n'ont jamais répondu (pareil, ce sont les seuls durant tout notre séjour à na pas répondre aux messages.) Et si vous avez une bouilloire et une cafetière à disposition en chambre (pas pas les filtres ... qui part en vacances avec ses filtres à café ?), les thés et cafés ne sont pas à disposition gratuitement en chambre comme dans tous les autres hôtels, mais en vente à la réception. Bref, nous avons été très déçus par cet hôtel et préférons largement les petites structures plus sympas et moins radines.
