"We arrived in Cherbourg by sailboat, but the journey had been rough and we were feeling cold wet and tired, and wanted a nearby place to recuperate, rather than sleep on our boat in the cold weather. "Just pulling out La Ferme des Mares, a charming establishment that provides everything except showers and an apology or discount for providing showers. Should you decide to visit, my advice is that you check the hot water before accepting the keys so that you don't have the unhappy experience of discovering an ice cold shower upon waking the next morning. And no one at the reception to assist you until 8:30 AM when you need to check out."

"We stayed 4 nights at this location. It was very quiet, spotlessly clean and very pretty. Our hosts couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful. Breakfast was an overall pleasant experience with some home made goodies. Fell in love with the family pet dog Talie. Would definitely stay here again 👍"

Only issue was that we had no hot water to shower the morning we left, which ironically enough is exactly why we booked them because of a hot water issue at another facility. As we left they told us it was fixed and we could use it but we were already packed up and had plans/timetables for the day. Otherwise it was a great place to stay."
