"We arrived in Cherbourg by sailboat, but the journey had been rough and we were feeling cold wet and tired, and wanted a nearby place to recuperate, rather than sleep on our boat in the cold weather. This place was ideal. We had good wash and sleep, and was refreshed for our onward sailing journey."

"Nous venons de séjourner dans ce Refuge qui porte bien son nom. Nous y avons passé une semaine durant la période de Noël. Nous nous sommes régalés à découvrir cette belle région et à profiter de la cheminée, du sauna et du bain nordique. "Just pulling out La Ferme des Mares, a charming establishment that provides everything except showers and an apology or discount for providing showers. Should you decide to visit, my advice is that you check the hot water before accepting the keys so that you don't have the unhappy experience of discovering an ice cold shower upon waking the next morning. And no one at the reception to assist you until 8:30 AM when you need to check out."

"So the rooms DO NOT HAVE A LIVING ROOM - Only a kitchen and two bedrooms. The place is nice and right on the beach with plenty of space and no dog restrictions. We enjoyed our time just limited space when it rained"
