Off the grid, part tent part lodge at tree height!
You must stay here if you like the quiet and being in nature. We arrived along a windy track, and then followed the receptionist on her quad bike to our tent on stilts. Clean- as much as it can be surrounded by trees. There are open spaces between some of the glass panels and the roof space but everything was clean and dusted. It was also raining hard and co to yes to do so for all of our stay. We still had a bbq!
Comfortable- the bed was comfortable with really soft sheets. They provide blankets and electric blankets and a heater for warmth and I bet it is lovely when it’s not raining sitting on the deck.
We didn’t see Charlotte the spider or her friends but we were prepared!
Breakfast- this arrived in a hamper with lovely fruit, fresh bread and croissants. Otherwise there are semi basic cooking facilities.
We didn’t get a chance to walk to the rock pools but will go back again. Certainly recommended but only if you love nature and being off the grid!
Lovely, unique, and clean. The host family was warm and welcoming. They prepared a DELICIOUS New Years Eve braii for all the guests. We spent the new year in the pub playing darts and by the open fire with the hosts and guests. It felt like we were with old friends and family. The tree houses are COOL! They warn of possible harmless spiders (I guess to be honest just in case) but we saw NO spiders. A breakfast basket is delivered in the morning...again, delicious! We stayed in 6 lovely places in SA, but Teniqua Treetops was our favorite and we hope to return someday!
Anbefaler at prøve stedet.
A stunning experience for those that wish to escape the craziness of the city. Connecting with nature on a much higher level was the best part of this little adventure. If you are one of those that are nervous around Gods creatures and enjoy the comforts of modern tech then this may not be your place to visit. It can get rather hot but run some cool water in the bath, take a seat and sip away at an ice cold beer while you cool down.
The staff there is very friendly and will treat you like family. There are only a handful of treehouses so you really have your privacy and peacefulness here. We checked in and everything went smoothly. They took us down to our treehouse which was well kept and had all the furnishings and comforts of a cabin in the woods. If you are not used to the composting toilets they are very simple to use and they will give you a breakdown of how to use. there are hiking trails that go down to the river. For dinner you can place your order with the reception and they will forward it to the local restaurant. The food will be brought to you around 6pm directly to your unit! At night you will likely encounter huge spiders, rain spiders, they are harmless and at check in you will receive spider grabbers that you can use to catch and release them outside your unit. In the morning you will get a delicious breakfast delivered to your unit as well. We had a great time and would love to come back again for a longer stay.
We stayed in the family sized treetop house which features a large double bed and a bunkbed plus the possibility of a pull out bed (which we didn't use as it would have taken up all available floorspace.
Warren provided a great welcome and explained all features of this eco-friendly cabin, escorting us there on his quad bike.
The treehouse is really well equipped, even including toiletries and a small basket of teas/coffee. When we could not find a chopping board he organised this swiftly for us.
The children made good use of the trampolin and pool table, played with the dog and really enjoyed the magic of staying in the forrest.
Try and stay there over the weekend to be able to visit the Sedgefield Saturday Market which is on from 7-12 and which is absolutely wonderful and there is a plethora of fantastic local food to try and buy.
Well worth visiting and full marks to Warren.
The wifi did not work for us, apparently because we have Apple devices but Warren found out important information for the next stop on his computer.
Warren and his staff went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and welcome. Absolutely stunning place for both romantic and family breakaways.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, room comfort
Camping in the tree tops
Remote, quiet, views to die for.
Self catering, so make sure you have enough food and drink to sustain you! No on site food facilities, and nearest town is 10 miles away.
Be prepared for composting loo, filtered rain water for drinking and filtered river water for washing - takes some convincing that washing in brown water will get you cleaner! (First World prejudice)

The area has beautiful forest, the accommodation OK.
Issues: can't bath/shower when it's cold weather, although the setting of bath Is very good. Stange lay-out of the chalet- you walk through the toilet/bathroom area to the deck. The swimming pool lacks seating/atmosphere
Great setting On top of the trees but only 15mins from main road. Super clean and lovely bath. Also used the bbq which was great. Difficult but rewarding walk to the river to swim in the natural pools.
It was an amazing hideaway in the bush.
A tent in a tree with all the all the luxuries of a hotel room and more.
Awesome bath tub with a view of the stars, bbq on the porch with an amazing virw.
Awesome staff.
Thank you for a great time
