We rented this house for nearly a month and a half, the location was great for its proximity to John Pennekamp State Park and had a quiet neighborhood with boat access. Overall the neighborhood was quiet and was great for walking around and was nice and close to the paved trail along highway 1.
There were definitely some things that could use some change in this house. The closets were jam packed with stuff, whenever we had guests visit they always mentioned this. There was only room to put anything in the master closet, the other two bedrooms had useless closets. The kitchen was so overloaded with stuff when we got there that there was nowhere to store food. Being there for an extended stay I had to clean out a cabinet in order to have room for food. This place also could use a new coffee maker, the one that was provided was terrible, grounds in the coffee all the time and it looked so dirty. The TV’s in this house are also terrible quality, normally on a vacation this wouldn’t be something I notice but staying for so long we definitely utilized the TV’s. Streaming service was not compatible with the TV in the living room and cut off part of the picture. The TV in the bedroom was terrible with playing DVD’s, the display was always off. The screen door on the front was missing the latch when we got there and was very loudly banging closed all night long. The washer proved to be a big problem, it ruined not one but two full loads of laundry with what I can only describe as grease stains. There were black/brown stains all over my clothes, after many attempts to get the stains out I had to throw away my clothes. There was absolutely nothing in the wash that could have caused this other than the washer, I triple checked everything to determine the cause. So frustrating! Also, BEWARE we were charged for ‘blood’ on the sheets on the twin beds. One of these beds was never slept in! I can only surmise that the cause of this was again the washer staining the sheets, thought I was being good renter by washing the sheets only to be smacked with a huge fee upon returning home!
