I love Jokkmokk. This town is one of my favorite places and hotel Akerlund is a wonderful historical building. Simple, quiet and safe.

The inside is a lot better than what the outside l

The interior of the hotel is actually quite nice. Modern, pleasant and comfortable. Unfortunately, the outside looks terrible. The gravelly dirt grounds are weedy. The building needs a paint job and the sign for the hotel is shabby and only partly there.

Positive things first: Nice staff, clean room and excellent breakfast. I am still only giving 2 ovarall stars because I hardly got any sleep. There was music on all night and I made the mistake of being patient. I thought it must be from another guest who does not care. Finally, at 6 am I went to look for where the noise is coming from ... It was from a speaker at reception that was exactly beneath our room. They had music on all night for no reason. The other thing that really put me off was the outside of the hotel. I know, the inside is more important but from the outside the place looks like it will soon fall apart. So, the first impression is poor and for the price they want per night, I would expect a place like this to invest also in the exterior. Last but not least, for the rate I would say the room was on the small side.

Nice hotel in a rural town

The hotel was well situated in town. We were extremely pleased with the helpfulness of the staff. When we checked in, we were welcomed to a complimentary light dinner at the restaurant. The room was small, but had everything we needed. I wish there was additional sound proofing in the rooms, as we could easily hear every conversation in the neighboring room. Otherwise, the room was very comfortable. They also offered a breakfast, which was small but tasty.

Reasonable hotel in nice area

The hotel itself looks outdated from the outside. Inside it looks more charming, especially the reception and breakfast area. The room was clean but had not much comfort. Breakfast was sober. First hotel during our trip through Sweden and Norway with no plantbased milk/ gurt. But I have to mention I did not ask for it as well. I always have some with me myself.

The staff of the hotel was courteous and the property itself was fine. But they gave me a room like a broom closet. Small and dark. And next to the actual broom closet, right on the main corridor to other rooms, so noisy as well. I asked to change rooms immediately upon seeing mine but they refused. Total rip off. I will never return as other options in Jokkmokk are much better and some are also cheaper.

Nice but somewhat strange

Nice hotel with but nightshift staff wasn't very welcoming or helpful. Dayshift was very nice. The heating made noise which could be helped to some extent by moving the sofa to block vibrations on the heater radiator. Weird was that in the nice bathroom there's a 5cm gap around the tub. How anybody would clean that is beyond my understanding. Also the water while showering would inevitably spill there. Might have caused the somewhat annoying smell.

Gute Wahl, wenn auch etwas verwirrend am Anfang

Der Check-in war leider etwas chaotisch. Bei unserer Ankunft war niemand an der Rezeption, also gingen wir ins Restaurant. Etwa zehn Minuten später kam eine Mitarbeiterin und teilte uns mit, dass nur noch ein Doppelzimmer frei sei – das bekamen wir dann. Sie schickte uns eine Treppe hoch, obwohl die Rezeption eigentlich auf derselben Etage war, was etwas verwirrend war. Als wir später zurückkamen, lag dort ein Umschlag mit unserem Namen und dem Schlüssel zu einem anderen Zimmer. Also mussten wir erneut ins Restaurant gehen und die Situation klären. Am Ende blieben wir doch im ursprünglich zugewiesenen Zimmer. Das Frühstück war wirklich gut und das Zimmer moderner als erwartet. Insgesamt eine sehr gute Wahl, trotz des holprigen Starts.
