If you’re planning your first trip to Istanbul and feeling overwhelmed with hotel options, let me save you some time: The Galley Hotel is a hidden gem. I stayed for over two weeks and it truly made my trip. I’m extremely picky about cleanliness and spent weeks researching because I wanted a sea view and balcony without paying luxury hotel prices. This place delivered. The room was spotless (and I’m a serious clean freak), comfortable, and the sea view was exactly what I hoped for. What really stood out was the hospitality. Right after I booked through Expedia, the hotel reached out to help arrange airport transfers at fair prices, which made arriving in a new city much easier. As a Muslim woman traveling solo, safety was my top priority, and I felt completely safe and respected the entire time. A huge thank you to Ali at the front desk. His professionalism and genuine care for guests made the stay unforgettable. The staff also kindly let me use the communal kitchen, which was incredibly helpful during a longer stay. One honest note: the metro runs nearby, so light sleepers may want earplugs or headphones. For me, the sea view made it totally worth it. And don’t forget the neighborhood cats! They’re adorable and part of the local charm—please buy some food and feed them if you can. It ended up being one of the sweetest little highlights of my trip. About a 15-minute walk to the Blue Mosque, beautiful views, and staff who truly care. I’d happily stay here again 😊

The hotel was in a nice location, but you’re paying for the price of the hotel. It’s definitely cheap and maybe better for short stays. There was nothing special about the room it’s very small but the bed was comfortable for me and my husband. The top sheet was clean the comforter was clean, but if you peeled back the sheet, there was a bunch of hair from other people. I also got bitten seven times by some kind of bug in the room. The worst part about this hotel room, which is one of the most important parts of the hotel room is the bathroom. This bathroom was so small and it was combined with the shower. It made everything wet and uncomfortable in the toilet seat was not sturdy it kept moving. It definitely was dirty and we had to buy our own cleaning stuff to clean it to feel comfortable. So if you’re gonna stay here, I definitely would get wet shoes to wear in the shower. The other thing is that they never refreshed the water or the shampoo conditioner in the bathroom. It’s not the cleanest hotel and the water system in the bathroom makes it stink really bad. But it wasn’t super noisy and they have an air conditioner. But the room service/cleaning is not that great but again you’re paying for a cheap hotel. We didn’t try the breakfast or the food at this hotel so we can’t talk about that. Another thing to know about this hotel is that it’s near a lot of touristy food places so it’s not local so the food’s gonna be expensive. The hotel staff was polite.

My stay here was so great. The staff were amazing - very helpful, always available and very friendly. For the price, the accommodation was really good - its close to transport and many of the sites, but be aware there is a decently steep hill that was my nemesis until I got used to it, but to be fair, I'm not at all fit. Important to know is that the rooms are not cleaned daily but you can ask for your bedding to be changed or clean towels. Room had a fridge and kettle which is really handy. Great place to end a touristy packed day

Wir waren zu dritt dort jeweils ein Bett war soweit alles okay der Duschbereich ist recht klein für größere Personen aber alles hinnehmbar. Wir hatten kein Zimmerservice, aber in der Rezeption hat man jeden Tag auf Anfrage neue Handtücher erhalten. Ab und zu konnte man tatsächlich auch die Bahn hörenaber wenn man dort ist, geht man halt nicht davon aus, dass man ne top ruhige Lage hat. beim nächsten Mal erneut das gleiche Hotel.
