"This property was on a farm in a stunning location surrounded by great countryside and wildlife. Lovely sandy beaches were within a short drive. All our needs were met in the cottage which was very comfortable and very well equiped. The host was very friendly and helpful as was the rest of the family on the farm. "We had the perfect stay at the Old Salt House. Kim had taken care of everything we needed. The beds were super comfortable, the shower was fab, the deck gave us stunning views, the pub round the bay was just sublime, and the cottage was always a joy to return to; a cosy neuk after the Portnahaven winds. "Great cottage. Clean, comfortable and homely.Good sized and enclosed garden for the dog. Great location for getting about the island. Not to mention staggering home distance after a tour and taste at the distillery!Wood burning stove was amazing every evening but there were no utensils (poker, sweep etc) for maintaining and cleaning it."

"No contact from Homeaway regarding getting keys etc. Hours spent on the phone to various "customer service". Found out myself that it was managed by cottages. com. Logged in to their website to find all the information there. Probably spent too much money by booking through Homeaway rather than direct with Cottages. Com. Views were stunning, great location. "David is a great host. Very quick to respond. The cottage is very clean. Internet was fast. Beautiful quiet area. Good to arrive to Coffee & tea and biscuits and milk in the fridge, cleaning products and bin bags all the basics. The central heating was on when I arrived late at night so the cottage was cosy and warm. Plenty of hot water. The kitchen and dining area is very light and spacious with great views of countryside. The cottage is next to a working farm so lots of sheep and cows. I was visiting friends and family ten minutes walk away. You do need to have a car when staying here, there is nothing but beautiful scenery and peace and quiet. Shops and restaurants are not within walking distance. But nothing is too far away and there is never a traffic jam on Islay and always something to see ! "
