Everything was brilliant! The facilities are top class, the staff impeccably polite and well trained. Food and drink great. The team could not do enough to make sure our stay was a wonderful experience, incl organising room decoration, drinks and treats for my husband’s birthday.
Although this hotel is bustling, we enjoyed that there were enough sunbeds for all guests at both the pool and the beach. The team at the hotel is attentive and very friendly!
Staff were all excellent and rooms super clean. TV and air con didn’t work for a period of our stay however everything else was fine. Would like to see some more facilities for Level customers. Very little to do & few options in the evening aside from one dedicated restaurant which was closed one night we were there. Everything also closes early which is a shame.
Hotel Room and staff were lovely as was the food, the spa facilities are nice but front of desk staff at spa, not very good (booked couples massage with prosecco and fruit, no fruit or prosecco, we complained and they told us they did not offer this and we felt like they were implying we were lying) -the spa is not ran by the hotel
This resort is the most beautiful, classy, clean, excellent in many ways! The staff is excellent! Services excellent! The pools, the beach so beautiful! Can’t wait to go back again! Very highly recommended!❤️
Beautiful hotel with an elegant vibe - if you pay extra for Level Lounge access. Otherwise you’re in a huge pool with 1,000 screaming children. However! If you are bringing children they are fantastically well catered for.
As a couple I would recommend the Level for some peace and serenity.
The hotel is not really near anything so hire a ca
We had a lovely stay at Melia Durrës- we stayed in a garden facing room which was lovely and quiet. The pools are amazing - very clean and relaxing! Good activities for kids (park, pools, kids club etc)
The only downside is that there’s not much to do if the weather isn’t great. Perhaps an indoor arcade or small cinema would be good.
Food is good (lots of variety) - but timings can be a little restrictive. Could do with a 24 hour cafe or something for those with kids.
Overall we had a very nice week. The property is of excellent quality, immaculately clean, the rooms are lovely, and the staff very friendly.
There were some areas which slightly let it down but I suspect this was because it was right at the start of the season so they are still ironing things out:
- They provided incorrect information on what the all-inclusive package comprised when we checked in. To their credit they subsequently made up for it by offering complimentary dining in a number of the restaurants reserved for ‘Levels’ guests.
- The buffet in the main restaurant ‘Merkado’ was fine if a little uninspiring. I think you would get pretty bored of it after a few days.
- The beach is litter-strewn and rather desolate but we found this in several other beaches we visited.
Top tip: rent a car as there are some worthwhile day trips within an hour or two (Tirana, Kruje etc).
The hotel itself is beautiful, with stunning interiors and a generally welcoming atmosphere. The staff seemed friendly throughout our stay, which added to the overall experience.
However, there were a few downsides. The food at the Mekado restaurant—which is the main option included in the all-inclusive package—was consistently cold. This applied across breakfast, lunch, and dinner. At one point, they brought out a fresh batch of pancakes, and even those were cold (???). We concluded Albanians liked cold food and this was their norm.
Housekeeping was another area that could use improvement. While I understand cleaners aren’t expected to tidy up personal belongings, basic cleaning was lacking. The bed would be made and towels replaced, but surfaces weren’t wiped, and floors didn’t appear to be cleaned. I had left a bracelet on the floor, and it was still there when we returned later that day. You’d only know they had been in your room because of the new towels, which was quite odd.
Also worth noting: the location is very remote. Most places are about an hour’s drive away, so it’s not ideal if you’re hoping to explore the area easily.
Overall, it’s a beautiful hotel with friendly staff, but some key areas—especially the food and cleanliness—definitely need improvement.
A brilliant hotel with a beautiful beach front. Definitely worth paying extra for The Level. Only disappointment was that we weren’t able to keep our room for later checkou
