Propery is a Green King pub with some rooms above. The pub, and the food in the pub are fine. The rooms could be a set for a 1950s film. There is a notice which says the rooms are shortly to be completely refurbished. However the price is very good value considering free parking, and a free english breakfast.

Station hotel.

The curtains were not hung correctly and left a gap between the curtains, there was a Paine of glass missing from the window, boarded up but still daylight visible around the edge. One and only time we will stay there.

Mixed feelings

I am a little torn here, the accomodation part of the building is aweful, the rooms are very basic and i had black tape on my ceiling covering a hole, the shared bathroom was a health risk, with black mould everywhere shower in a slippy bath. but the service was amazing and the land lady could not have been any nicer, amaing full english. so once renovated i would happily stay again

Apart from the scaffolding all around the building - at least the facade was being repainted I believe- the accommodation area was in serious need of a makeover. There were holes in the walls, the sash window was being kept open at the bottom by a tube which stuck both out of the room and into it near the bed and the shower door was broken. There was a reasonable supply of tea and coffee in the room however.

Depressing!

So depressing!! Reeked of old and cigarettes, furniture and fittings looked decades old. Very basic rooms, shared toilet didn’t have toilet paper in the morning. Single glazed windows and the traffic can be heard so loud. The price at the desk of the pub was also £25 cheaper than hotels.com
