Really nice room and very clean. I think the website needs to take down that they have parking because you don't. When asked, he said they don't use the parking garage anymore and you park out front. However, you have to pay up to $40 a day for that. We were there for 6 days so do the math.

Great location!!

Location superb. Only issue was I didn’t want to park out on the street and there was no parking at the hotel. Woman behind the desk said all booked up, without caring too much.

Didnt expect a student flat to amsquerafe as a hotel. Shouldnt book people into street facing non double glazed rooms on friday nights qoth noisy hoons cruising the streets to midnight in loud cars.

We were disappointed with this property. The reception staff werent very friendly, very limited kitchen stuff, half a roll of toilet paper. Seems its more set up for those that live on site permanently or more for students than travellers. Out of the 6 different properties we have stayed in this trip this was the worst.

Broken windows, mould on bathroom ceiling, rusty window. Do not stay in rm 301, cars sound like there right outside, and inside doors banging late at night. (hard to sleep). Not impressed. Not even a thank you for staying when checking out.

Probably better options in Invercargill

This is essentially student accommodation, not a hotel. We even had to retreat to one of the bedrooms to watch tv as there was no tv or power points to plug a laptop into in the lounge. The lady at reception on Sunday was unfriendly, bordering on rude. The room was extremely run down with a curtain hanging off its runner, cracked window in the lounge and cobwebs all over the window. That said, the room was otherwise clean and was serviced after our first night. The linen was clean, the beds were ok and the shower was hot.

A sour experience.

The stay started OK, but once we got to the room it deteriorated quickly. 2 of the towels provided had a terrible smell of vomit. Although they looked clean, the smell was overpowering. On receiving replacements from reception, as housekeeping had finished for the day, we were told just to leave the old ones outside the door. I considered that to be a health hazzard. The room itself was spacious and the beds comfortable. Reasonably well equipped.

Advertised that had airconditioning in room, totally false, had a free standing unit that didn't distribute cool air, absolute junk. We weren't told until we arrived that if we wanted to park in the hotel car park it would cost another $10.00 per night, and absolute rip off!. The access from the car park into the hotel is a maze of doors and requires you to travel through the service area of the hotel. The room windows were cracked and thr frames were rusty, windows had wire mesh imbeded in them, similar to a jail cell. We wouldn't stay in this hotel again.

Clean, convenient and comfortable

Have stayed at the Ibis on three occassions. It's clean, comfortable and conveniently located. On one occassion the room was very small and cramped. Room heaters are the hot water type, and gave problems on two occassions (and as I only returned to the room at night, this could not be addressed until the next day, and as no portable heaters were available, it was a cold and uncomfortable stay). Staff were friendly and helpful. Prices varied considerably depending on demand and often doesn't represent value for money.

Very disappointed that they confirmed availability of 2 x 1 bedroom apartments but on arrival it was fully booked. Rather than the booked apartment we were provided with a terrible 2 bedroom room which we think may have been a hostel room. Ended up with a very small studio instead.

Thansk for the stay - I would rate it ok I would return, however the parking could be made easier. Parking is free after 4:30 pm but not prior , so when I arrived at 2:30 I paid on the street for a few hours, but as I had to work - in the evening by the time I returned the reception was closed and therefore I could get into the parking for the duration of my stay. I don’t recall the listing but the walls are also not soundproof. The location was perfect and it was a comfortable bed for my 1 night stay.
