"Title: Perfect Location, Incredible Views, and a Warm Welcome! Overall Rating: 5/5 We booked this stay after a terrible night in Pagosa Springs, and the DoubleTree Durango was exactly the rescue we needed. The early check-in was granted without any hassle, and the front desk staff were absolutely fantastic—warm, caring, and professional. They set the tone for a wonderful stay. The Room & View: The room was much larger than expected, with plenty of extra space to spread out. The balcony overlooking the river walk was the highlight—absolutely breathtaking and so peaceful. We loved just sitting out there watching the water flow and even had a family of ducks wander by! Amenities: The room was spotless and came with a microwave and refrigerator, which was super convenient. The bathroom was very clean, and I really appreciated the great-smelling shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. We had a minor bathroom repair issue, but maintenance responded immediately thank you for the perfect place to lay my head after a very bad accommodation situation in Pagosa Springs."

"Very cute historical room! The night staff and manager were awesome and accommodating! Very quiet until about 7 when the train blows its horn but not the hotels fault! I love Durango and had a fantastic stay!!!"

"We used almost all amenities while staying here: the locker room, lap pool, fitness center, business center, and restaurants. The staff was wonderful, the food delicious, the pools were great to use for my morning swim. We would stay again. Our only disappointment was that we couldn't get any WIFI connection in our room, even our phones said "emergency calls only"- so if you stay at the end of the hall with rooms 200, be aware you may not have service."

"The General Palmer is over 125 years old. That said it is kept fresh and up to date with almost all the amenities found in a modern hotel. What it lacks in the very latest technologies it more than makes up for with its charm and beauty. The rooms were spotless, the towels in the bath were as fine as I’ve ever seen and lastly the staff were fully dedicated to making your stay comfortable in every way. From a more practical standpoint the parking is excellent and the location is perfect. You can easily walk to nearly any restaurant or shop you want and you are right next door to the train station. We have stayed at the General Palmer multiple times over 40 years and wouldn’t even think of staying anywhere else in Durango."

"It was great stay. Ac was welcomed during the day and cool at night in the tent structure to turn it off. Great paths to walk along steams and deer wander thru. Bring sleep mask if you are not an early riser. Dawn is beautiful though!"
