On a recent family trip to Japan, we stopped in Gifu to see the cormorant fishing (a fascinating and enjoyable experience), and had the good fortune to spend a night at the Juhachiro. Staff qent above and beyond to help me finding an exchange machine for a taxi that did not accept credit cards. Breakfast was abundanta a and diverse, but a with scarce continental options.

Love these properties. They all are the same so you know what you get. The beds are soooo comfy! There is good coffee, tea, and miso soup packet 24 hours a day. It was extremely clean. My only thing I didnt like is they lock the AC at 23 and it was so warm i couldn’t sleep. The next day they unlocked it for me and i slept perfectly. Staff was very polite. Wifi worked well, shower pressure was great. They also have breakfast set deals at a nearby restaurant , but i saw it too late to use it.

This hotel set the new standard for my wife to travel to Japan now. It is sit right below Inuyama castle and the hot spring is just perfect after all day out. It's garden (free with room key) is relaxing and tea ceremony (600Yen) was great. The hotel is well designed and the breakfast set (5000 pp) is well worth it. A solid hotel option in Gifu. Easy check in, hassle-free, good rooms. The carpet was a little stained, but everything else was otherwise great. Didn't pay for the breakfast buffet they offer (1,200 yen), so can't comment on that. Pretty good location in Gifu. The only stressful thing was parking. They have parking available in a parking garage next door for 1,000 yen/day and you can park there between like 14:00 - 10: 00, something like that.
