🌅 Sunning Lake and Mountain Views| Hot Tub | Private Cove | Kayaks | Wake up to panoramic lake and mountain views in a peaceful, no-wake 60 acer cove—perfect for relaxing, reconnecting, and making lasting memories. This elevated cedar home offers privacy, comfort, and one of the most serene settings on Smith Mountain Lake. It sits above the cabins offering a spectacular elevated view of the lake and mountains. I have been told by clients, realtors and friends on the lake I have one of the best

Cedar Key Village is part of a larger community called Cedar Key Estates. Most of the Cedar Key Estates are full time residents. Realtors have a waiting list of people who want to purchase in Cedar Key because we live on the largest no wake cove on the lake. It is over 60 acres. The mile long drive to to reach Cedar Key village is heavily treed, which offers a spectacular entrance into our resort, especially in the fall.. There are ten smaller cabins and our larger home that make up Cedar Key Village.
The entire house, decks, hot tub, patio and dock. I have one of the few homes on the lake where you can drive directly to the waterfront and your dock, perfect for bringin your cooler, food and water toys. It is also just a minute or so walk
Unfortunatly we are in a rural community which means you must rely on your car, no buses or subways.

The host was welcoming and very responsive as needed. The home was very well stocked- there wasn’t anything that we needed that wasn’t there. We loved the open floor plan and space for everyone. The cabin feel with lots of wood and exposed wood beams made it feel charming. The outdoor space was plentiful and the views were fantastic. My daughter and her boyfriend enjoyed the privacy of the downstairs suite.
Beautiful and serene. The house was clean and well appointed. Lots of kitchen gear making cooking for large groups easy. Enjoyed the hot tub, kayaks, and floating dock to park our pontoon rental. Alicia was as nice and responsive as she could be. Highly recommend.
What an amazing property! Our group enjoyed the serene location, beautiful mountain views and the quieter end of the lake. The house was well apportioned, we particularly enjoyed the spacious multi-tiered deck and hot tub which we put to use everyday. Highly recommend!
We had the BEST stay. Beautiful home, beautiful views. Such a relaxing getaway. We brought the pontoon boat, enjoyed the views, and the dock was perfect for our picnic. Great kitchen, bedrooms were perfect. Would not have asked for a better host.
We could not have asked for anything to be better than it was for our family vacation! The weather, home, lake, and having family around the table for every meal made this family vacation memorable and enjoyable beyond measure! Thank you, Alicia! We will be back!
We had 2.5 glorious days on the dock and enjoyed the hot tub on the rainy day. It was fantastic to be able to drive to the dock. The living area seating was perfect for our group as was the large dining table. It’s wonderful to have linens, TP, and several other items provided. Our hostess was attentive to our needs, and we appreciated her thoughtfulness.
What a wonderful lodge! We always come to SML after Labor Day ever year to enjoy the less busy but still warm and lovely lake! An added plus was being near Mitchell’s Point Marina where we enjoyed a delicious meal and great live music! We would def stay again! The kayaks and paddle board were a big hit too and convenient since they were right on the property. Thank you Alicia for your hospitality!
We had a wonderful time at the Yowell’s log cabin lodge. Our family consists of 6 adults, one toddler and family dogs and the setting was wonderful for our getaway weekend. The view is spectacular and the home is very comfortable and well equipped. We were blessed with a picture perfect Nov. weekend with warm days and cool nights and the fall colors were still vibrant. Alicia was very accommodating and easy to reach. We are already planning a time to return!
Our stay here was great. Home is exactly as described and well suited for anyone with mobility issues. Furniture was comfortable, kitchen was well stocked and was thankful to have linens, towels and beach towels provided. Host was easy to communicate with and very helpful. She definitely cares about her guests having a good time. Dock was very nice also. Boat sits down off dock so may be difficult for someone with mobility issues. Loved that we could drive right down to dock if we didn’t want to use stairs. Definitely recommend staying here.
Great outdoor deck space. Spacious floor plan. Property area is quiet & remote. We had 7 people and rented main lodge and the attached 4th bedroom. Kitchen is not large but nicely redone and well stocked with most everything you need. Dock is about 60 steps from lodge but you can drive down to it. We've stayed at much worse slopes down to the dock. Overall, an excellent week and would stay here again!
Our family trip was truly paradise ... the lodge exceeds all of our expectations ... all of the amenities were clean, the kitchen was completely stocked and the pantry, stocked with all cooking supplies. The bedrooms were spacious and the beds were so comfortable. The open layout allowed for the entire group to socialize while doing so many activities, playing games, eating, watching TV and quietly reading a book while enjoying the view ... as I watched my family enjoy our family time, I was so thankful that we were able to find such a beautiful place to make our memories.
We stayed 7 days here for a family vacation. My grown kids, my parents, my husband and dog. The Lodge accommodated all of us. We fished everyday. We swam every day. Fixed huge family dinners every night. Then we chilled out in the hot tub at night. Thank you Alicia for opening your home. We will definitely be back! Maybe every year :)
Three generations of a family stayed here to attend our daughter’s/sister’s/granddaughter’s graduation from VirginiaTech, with ages ranging from 21 to 80. EVERYONE was happy with the accommodations (an often difficult feat!). The house has stunning views, the beds are incredibly comfortable, and the surrounding woods were serene and perfect for afternoon walks counting the numerous deer that populate the area. We could not get over how gorgeous and well maintained this property is. The living area is spacious and was able to accommodate groups of people clumped in various spots holding their own conversations or playing one of the many board games that were tucked away in the closet. The kitchen had every accoutrement imaginable, from pots and pans to mixers, knives, multiple sized bowls and platters, tons of spices and seasonings, and dozens of kinds of teas. We absolutely loved being here, and the host was so wonderful to communicate with. She reached out well before the trip, then again immediately before we left for the trip, and then on the day of arrival to let us know that the house was cleaned early and available for check in several hours in advance. We also really appreciated being able to bring our dog with us - he absolutely loved the lake and jumping from the dock. It was probably one of the last vacations we’ll get to do together as a family, and we couldn’t have asked for a better place or host to work with. Thank you, Alicia!!!

Beautiful property
The cabin and property were both beautiful. The home was clean and had a well-appointed kitchen. Upon arrival, the house had a strong, musty smell, but opening the windows and lighting candles rid the home of the musty aroma. My daughter has allergies, and I was concerned the scent would make it difficult for her, but she had no issues. There was a road and several small cabins between the home and the lake, but you could see between them to the water; only a small amount of the view was blocked. One of the bedrooms was not accessible from the home, but rather you had to walk outside and to the back of the house to enter that room. It was disappointing that the room could not be accessed from the main part of the house, but my son and his wife volunteered to take it so the rest of us could be upstairs with the baby. That separate space opened to a beautiful patio. There were two decks, one off the other; that was our favorite part of the home. There were built-in gates that kept the baby and the dogs on the decks, which made using that space more relaxing. The kayaks were under the deck, and no one wanted to pull them out, so we did not use them, but I assume that if we had, it would have made the stay even better. The owner was very communicative and eager to make our stay great. Overall, the home was beautiful, and we had a wonderful weekend.
We came down to celebrate a 64th birthday of a dear friend. Beds were comfortable. House was clean and well stocked. We enjoyed the hot tub and kayaks. Lovely property we highly recommend!
This home is truly a lovely place for extended family, including your doggies. We had so much fun and spent some great time together as a family. The dock fit our rented boat and jet skis perfectly and the 4 bedrooms were great - including the one that is separate from the rest for some privacy. Will definitely stay here again!
