Many parts, like this in Hualien County, are paths through scenic valleys with beautiful bike-only paths among rice paddies. This is a rest stop along the path at the Antong Old Train Station. We rode the entire East Side of the island on bicycles in four days. Go self guided, or join a bike tour.

"The property is located at the end of alleyway. It’s hard to find the building. There are many piles of used plastic bottles and recycling cans along the way. The beds are literally just two mattresses on floor. The staff had No response to my request. "

"We had a wonderful time here! The room was large and comfortable for a family of four. We liked the quirky bird decorations and had fun identifying the native ones we have seen. I loved the balcony with an ocean view and the rooftop a for a more 360 degree view. It was our first time to Hualien area and loved the quiet and peaceful road this hotel was located on. The owner was so helpful and generous. We enjoyed the Taiwanese breakfast buffet, especially the radish cakes! Definitely will return....
