Scam

Traveling with my daughter for a cancer consult at MD Anderson, check in was 4pm. Beginning at 12:30ish, I began attempting to contact the owner for access information, which had not previously been provided. At 5:30pm- 1 1/2 hours AFTER check in time, owner would not answer calls or texts. In an unfamiliar city, under strenuous circumstances, after dark- we were forced to look for a hotel near the hospital. We contacted VRBO whose answer was to “contact the owner”. Stayed online with them for 30 mins while they attempted to do what we had been trying to do for the past 5 hours! I was refunded, but spent far more on hotel and eating out (exactly why I rented an apt- to avoid the expense of dining out)

Where do I start? RUN away! I rented this apartment for my parents who are undergoing cancer treatment. Not only was the apartment not clean, there was feces on the toilet, brown liquid all over the countertops in the kitchen and mold in the AC vents. Needless to say my parents had to leave after 12 hours. As if that is not enough, the apartment that we received was not even close to the apartment pictured. I wish I could upload the pictures showing this. When it came to check in time the owner was nowhere to be found. They had to wait outside for 45 minutes waiting for VRBO to get in touch with the owner. The owner refuses to refund the money and VRBO is not helping to recover the lost money. This owner should not be allowed to rent properties with VRBO or anyone.

Days turned into weeks! We appreciate Charles!

We were here for MD Anderson! The apartment was a life safer. Very close to MD Anderson and easy drive there. Husband ended up having to stay for surgery. Four days turned into 6 weeks. The owner Charles was very helpful and extended our stay. He worked with us to make something bad into not having to worry about where we would stay. The apartment was comfortable and safe also saved us lots of money by being able to fix our on meals. Bed was comfortable. Charles was a great host and we highly recommend his apartment! We had enough to worry about and Charles made the stay easy for us! Thank you Charles!!

Convenient with Great Communication!

Good: Excellent communication-Charles was quick to respond if we had questions. Convenient location-we we’re at MD Anderson and it took us less than 5mins to get there each day. Space as described Bad: Bathtub seal does not hold water well, and hot water runs out before tub is 1/2 full. Dogs barking late at night Loud drilling sound off and on all day/night, only audible in bedroom. Possibly a/c unit? Or from the unit next door? Exit gate was not working the first morning we left, BUT Charles reported it for us, and by the time we made it back that evening it was fixed. We would definitely stay here again, as the overall price is very affordable compared to hotels in the area, and the issues we did have were not major factors in our stay, and Charles was a great host.

Med Center Stay

The apartment was perfect for our week-long stay for appointments at the med center. The bed was comfortable, the living and dining space were great for working from home between appointments. The location was perfect for walking up to campus or for catching the red line, and we were also able to walk to nearby Sprouts, Kroger, Walgreens, and several quick food options like Liberty Taco. The owner was quick to respond to questions and provided good information. We would happily stay here again.
