We were given a room that was occupied and immediately returned to the front desk. The response should have been, "I'm so sorry, let me take care of that" or "sorry for the inconvenience", but instead, the room was called to verify that it was occupied. It was late at night, we were tired, and the last thing we needed to do was to walk back to the front desk! Do better, please.

We love staying at Home2 Suites. The rooms are clean and spacious; my (adult) child has a significant food allergy, so the convenience of washable dishes (and dishwasher), full-sized refrigerator, and microwave are well worth paying a little extra. The gym and indoor pool are also nice features (that we did not partake of, haha!) We also really like the hot chocolate bar and the afternoon cookies!

The hotel is very conveniently located for most things in Durham. The hotel staff were really friendly and helpful all of the time. They were all quite courteous and helped make our stay enjoyable. We were there for eight nights so we were able to get a much better feel for the staff and the amenities they provided. Lots of space for my family of 5. We only stayed one night but could have stayed longer. Loved the walk in closet, separate toilet room from shower. What makes this hotel so special is the staff. From the moment you enter the door Jerry greets you and treats you as though you have entered a five star resort. I did encounter some problems with noise and he took care of the it immediately and professionally. I also ordered room service and it was delivered quickly and the food was very good. The staff here is amazing. But again, I must say Jerry is one of the best I’ve ever meet in this business!

My husband had eye surgery the morning we had to check in. We went to the University Inn hours before check in to pay for our room; which we realized would not be ready. But the wonderful woman at the front desk said she would call us when the room was ready; and she did! It was a relief for my husband to get in the room and rest after his procedure. That was going above and beyond!
