It is a cute house and has many good qualities overall but we were disappointed in enough things that we would not consider staying there again. Our main reason for wanting to rent is the dog friendly feature with fenced yard. Looks like this house has been updated relatively recently but with very cheap materials. To wit: the lake access across the street is terrible. One must wade through high grass to a red clay "beach" unfit for swimming. Matresses are all old and have toppers. Pillows look like they were from Goodwill. The bathtub in Master is DANGEROUS. We are in our early 70's and I was scared each time I had to shower. No grab bars, anti skid strips, and high tub wall to climb over (defunct Jacuzzi). Kitchen: that refrigerator is downright ghetto. No icemaker, broken plastic ice trays. The kitchen sink does not have a disposal and does not have a strainer basket,, so food ends up, despite our best efforts, going down the pipes. The kitchen drawers are totally disorganized and I cut myself trying to look for something because all the drawers have sharps mixed in. The contract stipulates that the grill must be cleaned. There are no such tools available for that. We arrived to full trash bins. No pick up all week. There is ant infestation. We had to store everything in microwave or frig. I have a feeling that this house is being managed by an agent and perhaps no longer used by the owners. It is sad but it seems to be in a state of benign neglect.
