We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! We couldn't have asked for a better location and Larry was phenomenal at responding to any questions we had. There was a total of nine of us and there was plenty of room for everyone. Would definitely stay there again.
This cabin was great for my friends & I to get together for the weekend with their kids. Plenty of room for sleeping & playing. The cabin is quaint & peaceful while being 25 mins from town. Larry was good about answering any of our questions.
Check in process was easy as was check out. Communication with owner was easy. I unfortunately didn't get a chance to meet the host but my sister did. This was a great place to relax between our hectic schedule. While i didn't have much time to enjoy it the rest of family did. The kids loved the trails and the bulls. I think we have all agreed that we would love the stay again when we can just relax and enjoy the area instead of last minute wedding arrangements!
What a great place! A wonderful retreat in a rustic location. This is a great place to relax with a friendly, attentive host. We will definitely return.
This property is amazing. The lodge was very clean , cozy and secluded. It was perfect for a relaxing weekend with friends and family. Larry was a great host and had the woodstoves going for us when we arrived. If you're looking for a place to get away with lots of privacy and beautiful views, this is it!
We had a wonderful weekend. Plenty of inside space for 10 adults and 6 kids. Love the wood stoves and fire place. Great property for a killer game of kickball.
The house and property were perfect for our needs. The house is charmingly rustic. The grounds are isolated and spacious. We had such a good time we are planning to return next year.
This place is beautiful. Beds comfortable and furniture is comfortable as well. The space both inside and out was large and our big group did not feel crowded at all. Larry made check in and. Heck out a breeze As well ad giving us hiking and swimming tips.
If you want a peace and quiet place this is the place you need. Everyone loves the place. This is my second time coming here and I came with my friends and everyone love it. They said that we will be back again next time.
We traveled from DC for a quick weekend away. It was a group of kids (ages 2-7) and adults. There was plenty of space in the house to spread out and lots to explore. We loved the big fireplace in the living room. The listing could benefit from more information about what's provided but Larry was responsive and helpful with any questions I had. It was a great weekend getaway. Would definitely visit again.
This was the perfect house for the perfect short getaway. Wonderful nearby hiking, then home to a hot tub, fully stocked kitchen, three wood burning stoves to stay cozy, every bed is comfy. The whole property is charming and you could explore it without leaving and have a great time. Thanks Larry!
This place was awesome if you like being away from it all. No problem with cell service or anything like that but it was away all by its self. We really enjoyed it. We had three adult couples and six kids from 9 to 13 and they all loved it. (actually they didn't want to leave). Plenty of room to spare.
This is NOT FANCY, and the kitchen, dishes, flatware could use some upgrading (small fridge for a big group, barely enough usable forks for a party of 12 to eat a meal together, etc.)
However, we LOVED our stay. There is plenty of room for everyone, the yard is great for games and hanging out. The hot tub and fireplace were divine. Will return!
Had a nice time at this property with few friends. Property is in a very good location with multiple bed rooms and bathrooms. However, we were disappointed with the hygiene as there were quite a few bugs such as roaches ants around the house. We also spotted Snake inside the house. Larry was kind enough to visit the property and take the snake out. We would consider going back if property is maintained well with regular pest control.
We took a lovely two days in this rental to celebrate my nieces birthday, it was amazing! I wish we could have been there a week. It has a fantastic rustic alpine ambiance. It is also huge. There are plenty of bathrooms and plenty of beds. The wood burning stoves were nice and toasty and kept the February weather out.
Larry was a gentleman, he provided plenty of wood, and was very responsive to any needs. He even offered to loan us some milk when we forgot ours at home.
If we have the chance we will definitely be back. My only regret is we didn’t have time to explore the acreage.

Misinformation
The description of the property did not give the whole picture. It did not say that if mobility was an issue this property is not for you. The stairs to the bedrooms were very difficult to climb. They were narrow with a handrail on one side. Having a bad knee made them almost impossible. All the bedrooms were upstairs. If there had been an emergency getting down would be disastrous. I don't know if this property would pass fire codes. Larry the property check in person was very nice and helpful.
The property seemed well maintained but way too rustic for my taste.

Lovely farewell to 2023
This home was exactly what we were looking for. The location is wonderful, and the rustic charm is etched in our memories. We enjoyed fires in the large fireplace as well as the kitchen stove the entire time we were there. They provided plenty of firewood for us. The hot tub was perfect after our hiking adventures, which are easily accessible in every direction. There was more than enough room for us as we were only 2.
The only hiccup was checking in, as we did not hear from Larry after several attempts. We showed up and luckily the door was unlocked. Larry showed up the next morning and apologized and said he had an emergency, and we completely understood. But it was a little unsettling to show up to this place in the middle of the woods at dusk and not knowing if we were going to be able to get inside.
Other than that, we surely hope to be back for another visit!
This listing doesn’t do it justice. This house is adorable, well designed and just the right amount of space for our 2 family units. The upstairs has 2 separate wings: 1 with 2 bedrooms and full bath, 1 with 3 bedrooms and full bath. The middle area is open to the downstairs and has bunks for older kids. The stairs are something to know about as they’re more like a ladder but our 2 year old mastered them by the end of the stay. The downstairs has 2 separate and beautiful living spaces and another full bath. There are 2 wood stoves and a beautiful fireplace with plenty of seating for lounging and eating.
The outdoors is beautiful and the most private we’ve ever rented. Surrounded by woods and pasture, we enjoyed the fire pit and hot tub immensely.
It is in nature so yes, bees and bugs were present, but not that it would stop us from returning and no one got stung by a single thing during the stay.
The kitchen was very well stocked and we appreciated the amenities like paper supplies, linens and ice trays. Not to mention the trails and local attractions.
Thank you for letting us stay. We hope to return on a sunny weekend to embrace all the property has to offer.

Family reunion
I have been trying to think how to write my review on this property since the trip itself was amazing and then I realized it had nothing to do with the property but the family I shared the experience with.
If you have any problem with mobility, do not rent this property. I wish i had taken a photo of the stairs along with the step downs to adjoining rooms. A very steep set of stairs with no railing leads to the upstairs where all the bedrooms are located. I contacted the owner with my concerns and he stated I should have asked prior to arrival. Honestly, it never occurred to me to ask if people would have problems getting to a bedroom.
The front door did not lock and often came open on its own. The owner did not respond to this.
If you have a fear of spiders or bugs, i do not recommend. That being said, I don't have that fear, but others do. It is definitely a lodge!
The lighting is interesting and I am pretty sure a safety issue.
The hot tub was amazing although all the jets weren't working and the bee colony above it was annoying. I love bees but be aware if you are allergic.
I don't believe I have ever given a bad review and this saddens me.
If you are looking for a very rustic property this is for you.
