We had a long drive to our stay at Tower Road and when we called to say we were going to be a later check-in our host was very accommodating and told us not to worry at all. When we arrived he gave us a very warm welcome. Loved the room; we wished we had a longer stay! I would highly recommend a stay here and we look forward to returning!

We chose this location as part of our 6 day road trip from Welling to Auckland and prior to our visit to the Hobbiton Movie Set. No staff were on site when we arrived however we were given clear instructions about our unit location and how to access. This motel certainly met our needs for an overnight stay.

Everything about the Tower Road Motel was just excellent. Clean & tidy, everything you needed for either a one-night stay or more. Close to Matamata for what ever you needed. It was just perfect for travelling around the whole area and I have recommended it to my friend who lives in Matamata.

Our two night stay was excellent. Group of 4, we had two rooms and Andy the owner/host was very welcoming as soon as we arrived. Friendly, chatty and helpful. Sorted a TV issue out super quick :) Room amenities were very good. Great location, handy to the town centre by car, where there are lots of eateries. Plenty of onsite parking. We highly recommend and would stay again :)

The price was right, and the accommodation was close to town, however, not really easy walking distance, but a very short drive. We went to Hobbiton from the information center in Matamata by bus and found that very convenient. We ate it a little restaurant where there was a guitar player, entertaining in the front, and shared fish and chips, which were very good. The hotel was perfect for our needs. It was a bit small in the hotel for the first night that was when the key was in the door on arrival. Everything was easy. Slightly dated, but clean and comfortable.
