Closer to home are the many Cognac Houses that you can visit to taste the local drink ‘Pineau’ and Golf du Cognac is 20 minutes away.
The house has been recently refurbished to a very high standard with many period features remaining. In front of the house is a large terrace with outdoor dining table & chairs, BBQ, Outdoor Sofa, 2 x Armchairs & Coffee Table. Step down off the terrace onto the decked area with heated swimming pool , sun loungers with a parasol, deckchairs & a hammock on a stand. The house is South facing & benefits from the sun all day long.
The spacious open plan Kitchen/Diner/Living Area has been tastefully fitted out with a handmade shaker style kitchen. There is a striking original charentaise feature fireplace with a wood burning stove for cosy winter evenings. The kitchen is fully equipped with a large island & barstools, range cooker, dishwasher, filter coffee machine & wine fridge for both red & white wines. There is an antique wooden extending farmhouse dining table & chairs that seats 6-10 people, a sofa & even a hanging chair creating a lovely sociable area for cooking, entertaining & hanging out together. Leading off from the kitchen is a cosy living area with original wood floors. It has been decorated with a striking designer wallpaper & has a large comfy corner sofa, leather armchair & Smart TV (Netflix) for relaxing family evenings. There is also a downstairs toilet. Upstairs there are 5 bedrooms & 3 bathrooms spread over two floors. The master bedroom on the first floor has a kingsize four poster bed & en suite, there is a main house bathroom with a freestanding bath & large walk in shower & a shower room on the top floor with a double sink unit. The smallest room on the top floor is currently used as a ‘kids den’ with a smart TV & double futon sofa bed. There is also a very useful Laundry Room on the first floor with a washing machine.
