「Stayed in the Royalist Suite for a short break with our daughter and found the place just totally amazing. Stephanie was friendly and provided accurate local and check in information. Orton Hall, and the Royalist Suite are stunning and just next level opulence. 「This is our third stay in the cottage and now feels like home from home. We were initially a little disappointed on arrival as the patio doors were so dirty (from the nesting birds) we had to clean the them ourselves in order to see out. The cottage could also benefit from new pillows as they are very flat. Other than that had a very enjoyable visit made even better by seeing a red Squirrel in the garden on last day that and nice weather made the holiday for us. 」

「The property is undoubtedly small. It was very clean and comfortable - a perfect base for exploring this wonderful area. Plenty of grocery stores and pubs/restaurants in surrounding area. 「We had a fantastic stay in Ambleside, largely due to the location of this property. A 5 minute walk from the centre of town and lots of restaurants and pubs but far enough away from the centre to be private. Amazing views. A little difficult to find in the first place but once we located it, all was good! Thank you!」

「We had a week’s stay at Orton Hall in Nell Gwyn Cottage. The front room and bedroom were comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped, but it all felt a bit dated. The grounds were lovely, but unfortunately it rained every day we stayed there, so we couldn’t really explore them. However, we did discover a chocolate factory in the village which we very much enjoyed, as well as a very tasty cafe for a full English breakfast nearby. It’s centrally located for visits to both the Yorkshire Dales...

「We hired the bunkhouse for two nights of birthday celebrations and walking. Great location with stunning walks right outside the door. Wainwright’s Inn is a few steps away, as is the co-op with its little cafe upstairs. I hope to make our stay an annual event. Highly recommended!」
