I was very clear from the beginning that I would prefer a quiet place. However after 4 days of staying in the hotel I started hearing loud noises of repairing going on below my hotel room. For 4 continuous days the loud drillings and hammering noise went nonstop every day. I called the hotel front desk and complained and also asked them to update me as to how long this repairing work would be going on. Every day they promised to update me about the repairing work beginning and ending times but they never did. Finally I decided to end my stay and check out of my hotel room.

Location and access to important places. Good customer service. No stand up shower, only bath tubs, which was difficult for seniors.

I liked the stay especially because the staff was good and helpful. Our son had motion sickness when we reached and he threw up in the lobby. The staff handled it very well, they let me check in to the room asap and completed the formalities later. They followed up to check on our son’s health later. The breakfast spread was reasonable as well. Overall a good short stay

The rooms were clean but had to constantly call for amenities that should have already been there in the room. The lack of restaurants was a disappointment, with only 2 restaurants serving sub par food. Moreover, they refused to give me a bill as I booked through Expedia. This is the first time that this has happened.

A/C unit did not work on two consecutive nights of our 2 night stay. Also the online checkin tool used by the staff did not work and had to repeat the same work multiple times.

Well kept, neat and aspirational but not Taj! Staff are very friendly and professional. Rekha at the front desk was very helpful and went over and beyond to feel welcomed. Corridors on my floor (4) were smoke stenched! I can’t understand why in this day and age smoking /nonsmoking room options exist rather than providing a designated smoking area/room! Instruction card in the room will be helpful to know the amenities! Fridge and coffee pot were hidden in a closet behind a gigantic mirrored cupboard!! Shower-tub combo is poorly designed and not ergonomical! I wonder how many elderly fell getting into or out of it! Overall, a bit overpriced by general standards but perhaps getting away due to name and not many alternatives!

the 3 days stay was comfortable and nice , hotel is rundown , a.c. would be slow in the night and heat will wake you up, flooring rundown and curtain would not move or close completely

Best available
The Vivanta is the best in Guwahati. Already starting to show some wear, but that happens in India. Staff is very nice.

Need to improve to check condition of all rooms,
1) It was not so good, 3 times the lights were gone in the night and I was staying alone in the room. Boy came and repair fuse at 2300 hrs. 2) There was no shower cap in the toiletries, I have requested twice for the same but no one bother to provide.
