Villaggio La Pizzuta

"This place has spectacular views and looks like a Hobbit Village set in the hills of Tropea area. Elevator to the beach is excellent and property is extremely charming. There were plenty of things to do and see (views of volcano, swimming, pool bar, evening music). Power is dated and could use an upgrade but a cute mini-village with some spectacular gardens and scenery."

"Wonderful for a short stay. Rooms were lovely and we enjoyed the pool, beach and restaurant. Only issue was location. Great for the airport but remote for all else. Would definitely stay again."

"First of all, we were so impressed by the family that runs this hotel. Can’t thank, Katrina, Martina, Fabio, Aurelio, the women who keep the place clean & the two lovely young men at the onsite restaurant. It’s so impressive observing all the above-mentioned staff work together so closely to ensure we as guests, have a phenomenal stay. Although, this hotel is quite a walk from Tropea & can be slightly dangerous as there are no sidewalks, for a surcharge they have a shuttle. However, if the weather was cooler & not 31 Celsius each day, it is doable. Also, a train operates on the back of the property but it wasn’t as annoying as we initially thought it would be. The La Laconda restaurant onsite has an extensive menu and everything is freshly cooked. Breakfast each morning was the same but it was all freshly cooked & baked onsite. Please note, we did notice, that if you request eggs prepared any way you like, they will cook it for you. Our only drawback to this place was the fact you can’t store any bought water or drinks in the mini fridge. We found that quite odd. They do provide drinks, pop & water for a cost but unfortunately, it wasn’t what we normally enjoy. Be aware that if you are a non smoker, guests smoke on the balconies. This was quite frustrating for us as we tried to enjoy drinks & lunches on our balcony which had impeccable views of the sea but unfortunately, our enjoyment was cut short due to the smoking. Too bad this hotel doesn’t have a designated area."

"Our room was easy to find the parking was no problem. Lots of stairs, but that’s good for you!! The location was good…and quiet, The beach area was empty, but very fun to walk down to and the pool is nice. About a 5 to 10 minute drive into Tropea so no issue there. Breakfast was great! They had excellent beer, the cappuccino was great. The room was large, overall a very nice place to visit Tropea from."

"The pool water was finitely not unkept in the week we were there. The water was green. The grounds are very well kept as well as the rooms after cleaning. There used to be a wonderful spa and I had a great massage from Alessandro."

"The staff was super helpful with all questions. The rooms are large with a great walk in shower. The beach is rocky and crystal clear with lots of fish. The lay out is great. The dinner menu is not always the best and it did jot match the online menue for the evenings dinner."
