About this property
Bonfire Holler Cabin
Live your life by a compass not a clock. Find your way to Bonfire Holler where you can unplug and relax. Cozy cabin on 20 acres (occasional neighbor across the road) where you can enjoy snowmobiling in the Gaylord/Grayling area or ATV riding in the Frederic area. Only 10 mins from Hartwick Pines State Park with camping, hiking trails and cross country skiing. Or cross country skiing and snowshoeing just a couple miles away at Forbush Corner. 20 min drive from Treetops Resort in Gaylord.
There are two bedrooms upstairs, each with a queen bed. The living room on the main floor has a sofa sleeper. Supplies: we leave coffee, paper towel, garbage bag (s), and toilet paper to get you started: if you’re there for an extended stay you may want to bring more. Pets are allowed we just ask that they stay off the furniture; there is plenty of room for dogs to run around the 10 acres. Please disclose if you are bringing a pet as there is a small cleaning fee.
We have a large driveway, please park on the gravel not the grass. Fire pit: you can use any brush you find, but bring wood. Charcoal grill: bring charcoal.
A door lock code will be provided when you book. There is a surveillance camera monitoring the front door/drive. (No cameras/devices inside cabin).
There is one seasonal neighbor in the area. Camp Grayling is located near I-75 where at times they have trainings (check their FB page for schedules as you can occasionally hear planes/booms in the distance).
We don’t allow extra guests without a reservation (no camping tents/RVs).
We ask that pets be kenneled if left at cabin while guests are not there. To access property we recommend AWD or 4-wheel drive in the winter months as snow and ice are unpredictable (even though we keep the road plowed).

Great getaway for the family with two dogs to roam the property and spend time outdoors. Everything about the property from cleanliness to check in to amenities was perfect. Would love to stay again!
The location was definitely relaxing, you’re basically in the middle of the woods. The tree-lined path to the property was beautiful. The cabin is cute and has everything you would need. Everything was clean. The pellet heater was super cozy, and it felt like we had a fireplace. We spent a lot of time hiking in the woods. Great experience overall.
We love staying at Bon Fire Holler. It's away from a lot of other houses and close to trails so we can ride our Jeep and enjoy nature. There was a couple problems but the owner quickly took care of them. His communication was excellent.
We had a wonderful stay in this cozy cabin. It was a much needed vacation and so relaxing. We loved the peace and quiet of the woods. And our hosts were so kind and responsive!
This is our 3rd time renting Bonfire Holler. It is so relaxing there. We also took Jeep rides on the trails and enjoyed nature. We plan on returning next year.
This cabin in the woods is private with plenty of outside space to enjoy. The first thing you notice when you open the door is cleanliness. The cabin even smelled really clean, which was a welcome experience based on some other rentals.I hope to be able to return for a future vacation.
We had a wonderful trip, the snow was deep and our gracious host came out to plow the drive for us before we got there! The pellet stove kept us toasty and we enjoyed the games and backyard snowball fights when we weren’t skiing. Wonderful visit and will return!
Absolutely loved the cabin! The location is perfect. Very secluded and private. Host was very easy going and prompt with a reply to every question I had. Stayed with our lab puppers and had a great time. Thank you Kyle!
Cute 2BR cabin was quiet. Four wheel drive vehicle best to access in Winter. Bedrooms cold, necessitating doors to be left open for heat from pellet stove to reach them. Enjoyed the peaceful and natural setting.
This was our second year visiting The Bonfire Holler and it was perfect. The host communicated and the place was clean and cozy. Our dogs absolutely loved the pet frendly carpet in the TV area and tge fuzzy one at the end of the bed in our room.We stayed longer and visited many National Parks in the area and further out. It was a wonderful stay and we will most definitely be back again next year.
Although I had to cut our trip short due to an emergency, I was still able to enjoy and appreciate the stunning cabin and the local area. I cannot wait to go back and finish exploring.
The host was an angel. I have nothing but great things to say.
Spent New Year weekend with my husband & our dog! Such a quiet peaceful place! Very well made cabin also! We enjoyed walking the property and road with our dog! Gaylord is a fun town as well! Also highly recommend Hartwick Pines State Park! We were lucky enough to actually get snow on NYE and it was so fun hiking the park with our pup! Definitely recommend Bonfire Holler!
Pure Michigan weekend in a cozy and immaculate cabin in the woods. Enjoyed the ability to “unplug” and listen to “old-time” music on the record player. Cabin stayed cozy with the pellet stove. Close to Hartwick Pines State Park! Enjoyable and relaxing weekend in the woods. Very responsive owner. Highly recommend.
