Every detail of “the house on the rock’s” design is so intentional and creative. By incorporating the magnificent nature around Grand Junction into the interior space, it allows visitors an immersive experience of the high desert. The most common word uttered by my colleagues and me was, “Whoah!!” — usually followed by, “…check this out!”; “…look how clever this is!; “…this is bleeping gorgeous!”.
I loved the purple salvia bracketing our first view of the “backyard” — which is a towering mesa. The deck was so inviting for early morning coffee — sipping and listening to the quail, doves, swifts and finches. I even saw a humming bird perch for a breathtaking few stationary minutes. Though we were there for business, I drove to the top of the monument to greet the dawn on my last morning, and it was simply awe inspiring.
Andrea, Tyson and Lana are clearly proud of this handcrafted gem of a property. They were so gracious and thoughtful. Lots of little details and considerations for travelers made our stay so easy. The communication was great and the guestbooks, strategically placed throughout the house, were super-informative and helpful.
We are grateful for this unique opportunity!
