This would be the best choice if you are looking for an authentic traditional Japanese accommodation. The hotel is very clean and our room comes with a balcony overlooking the Hida River. The view is absolutely gorgeous.
We particularly appreciate the staff's attentiveness. A very sweet male staff even offered to drive us to the JR station so that we don't have to carry our suitcases in the rain.
The hot spring in the basement is nothing too fancy. It's simple and traditional but the quality is high. The water felt very smooth. The roof top hot spring is quite small but much fancier.
From the accommodation to the people, everything was very satisfying. We had a great time and would definitely stay here again if we ever visit Gero again.
