The Space:
Welcome to your lakefront mountain getaway in Georgetown’s Bighorn Crossing community — a scenic, comfortable townhouse with unbeatable views and an easy escape from the city, just about 40 miles from Denver. Whether you’re brand new to Colorado travel, a returning mountain lover, or a Front Range local craving fresh air for the weekend, this home is a relaxed and welcoming basecamp for everything the Rockies have to offer.
The layout is one of the things guests love most. The main level features an open great room with a large L-shaped sofa and flat-screen TV, a fully equipped kitchen with modern appliances, and there is no dining table but bar-style chairs positioned at the kitchen island, a half bath, and one of the bedrooms, making it especially convenient for anyone who prefers fewer stairs. Windows frame peaceful views of Georgetown Lake and the surrounding mountains, so even a quiet morning coffee or a cozy night in feels special.
Upstairs, you’ll find the primary bedroom with a queen bed and a private ensuite bath featuring a walk-in shower and dual sinks. The second upstairs bedroom features rustic-chic bunk beds (twin over full with a trundle) and offers easy access to a full bathroom, making it a hit with both kids and adults, as well as a washer and dryer. Altogether, the home features three bedrooms, two and a half bathrooms, and ample space for families or groups to spread out and relax.
Step outside and you’re right beside a section of Georgetown Lake and its walking trail - perfect for morning strolls, sunset views, or wildlife spotting (keep an eye out for the town’s famous bighorn sheep). Guests also have access to a shared indoor pool and hot tub located within the Wyndham Microtel in the complex, just a short walk or quick drive away.
The location puts you in the sweet spot between Denver and the high country. You’re less than 1.5 miles from historic downtown Georgetown, and within easy reach of Loveland Ski Area, Arapahoe Basin, and Keystone. Explore local history on the Georgetown Loop Railroad, take a scenic drive over Guanella Pass in summer or fall to watch the leaves change, or head to Idaho Springs and Evergreen for dining, shops, galleries, and more. Whether you’re here to ski, hike, unplug, or simply soak in the views, this lakefront townhome makes it easy to enjoy Colorado at its best.
Wintertime in Colorado brings many opportunities for play and adventure, as well as seasonal hazards that require consideration. AWD or 4WD capable vehicles are required from November - April for all guests. Please plan your travel accordingly.

The vibe here is relaxed and welcoming, perfect for travelers who want adventure without the crowds. Downtown Georgetown is less than 1.5 miles away and packed with character - think locally owned shops, cozy cafés, historic buildings, and laid-back restaurants.
Outdoor lovers are right where they want to be. Clear Creek County Open Space is less than 2 miles away and offers excellent hiking and mountain biking trails with sweeping views. You’re also perfectly positioned between the Denver metro area and Colorado’s high-country ski resorts - Loveland Ski Area is only about 13 miles away, making powder days easy without a long drive. In warmer months, the same terrain turns into a playground for hiking, biking, and exploring alpine meadows.
A short 13-mile drive east leads to Idaho Springs, a delightful mountain town steeped in history and outdoor fun. This historic charm is evident in the many original buildings throughout downtown. Idaho Springs is a hub for activities such as rafting, featuring relaxing hot springs, local breweries, and galleries. You'll find a variety of excellent, affordable dining options, including the well-known Tommyknocker Brewery and Beau Jo's Colorado Style Pizza. Another fantastic spot is MTN Prime, conveniently located next to The Guilded Fox. This unique store on Miner Street is a treasure trove of mountain-themed goods, decor, and one-of-a-kind 3D layered mandalas handcrafted by the owner. For even more shopping and dining, the town of Evergreen is just a bit farther.
Keep an eye out for the local wildlife, especially the majestic bighorn sheep, often sighted near the interstate. If your visit falls during the summer or fall, be sure to take a drive along the breathtaking Guanella Pass Scenic Byway, where you can witness stunning displays of wildflowers, alpine lakes, and the unforgettable golden glow of the aspen trees.
Whether you’re curling up inside after a day outside, soaking in the lake views, or heading out to explore nearby towns and trails, Georgetown offers that perfect balance of quiet mountain living and easy access to Colorado’s best adventures.
