"If you are looking for a very short stay for a couple, it’s not the worst place ever. If you’re trying to stay as a family: abort mission. The outside security doors are nonexistent and the helpful man that checked us in assured us we should not worry. We worried, all night. The smell of cigarettes was very prominent in our room, despite all areas being “non-smoking”. I assume the smell was wafting in from the outside door that doesn’t have the ability to close. Stains, melted parts of plastic, dirty mirrors, no Kleenex. Seems like a place to avoid if you value cleanliness and safety. Oh, and the pool is “closed for maintenance” though other guests and I agreed, “that thing hasn’t been running for a long time!” Nice enough staff."

"The check-in clerk wasn't friendly. He didn't greet us. In fact, he barely spoke to me while checking us in. He just asked for my name and phone number, took my cc info, and handed me the keys. He didn't tells where to find the elevators, or provide any information about the property. Our room was clean enough. However they tried to give my brother a room that hadn't been cleaned since the last occupant. In the morning, their breakfast wasn't adequately stocked. We came downstairs to eat at 7:00 am, and there was no coffee and no hot food items. When I mentioned it to the staff member in the "kitchen", he rudely said, "I know". Customer service is truly a lost art."

"When we checked in at 8:00pm there was a line at the check in/registration desk with only one employee at the front desk. We waited approx 30 minutes to check in. The employee was doing a great job but needed assistance. I assume management knew they were going to be crazy busy since the hotel was fully booked/sold out for the night. (Whole Waterloo area was sold out due to 3 large events in town). She did well to keep calm & provided excellent service."
