"I wouldn’t give this hotel a 4-star rating and as a 3-star it was adequate but too expensive. We booked a junior suite and asked for a room on a higher floor but instead were assigned a cramped room on the 1st floor with a small shower for clients with mobility impairment. After some assertive persuasion we got a room on a 2nd floor which was more spatious and bright but with 2 twin beds instead of a queen bed. We also didn’t get a parking spot even though we arrived before noon and there were empty spots. On a positive note breakfast buffet had plenty of fruits, eggs and cheese and a few versions of egg dishes. Pancakes were also tasty. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and blackout curtains were adequate."

"The hotel staff were very nice, the room was clean, large and comfortable. Breakfast buffet was good with a nice selection of hot and cold options. Very well located and near to historic Funchal, everything within easy walking distance. Only negative was the sound of traffic was noticeable in the evenings / at night even with the windows/balcony door fully closed. "
