"Santa Maria Maior was just as described and in a perfect location. We were minutes from the cable car and many wonderful restaurants and bars. Patricia greeted us and explained everything about the apartment and some tips regarding the area. She was delightful. Olivier checked to ensure everything went smoothly and wished us a farewell. "Great location and newly renovated property. Looks just like photos. Excellent communication throughout thank you. A few things that could have been improved - no tea towels provided/ or cleaning product to wipe sides down in the kitchen- no chopping board had to use a plate - no hooks either in bathroom, bedroom or living room. No where to hang towels to dry or coats -the bathroom has a drain smell that was not nice. Also in the bathroom the shower does not seem to have sealant on the outside...

"I love the hotel and staff, the view was incredible from my room. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because of food and drink. I love having a nice coffee in the morning and they had machines that weren't great. I think they could up level. The staff are the real standout here."

"Excellent modern hotel in a fantastic location right in the centre of Funchal. Rooms were a great size and very comfortable and clean. Staff were very friendly and extremely helpful at all times. Lovely continental breakfast to start the day with a good choice was very good as well. Rooftop bar and lounge are were lovely and peaceful as well as affording a great view over the harbour area. We would certainly stay in the hotel again if we are to return to Funchal in the near future."
