"Stayed for a week in this cottage with fabulous views. Very clean and just about everything you need. We were only missing a corkscrew and egg cups, but anything else you need is there. Not quite as homely as we would have hoped as the cottage is quite sparse, but still had a wonderful time. Great to be able to access the canal and take a nice long walk to Neptune’s staircase from the cottage!"

"For a 4 star hotel this was appalling. During our 3 night stay we didn’t see one member of hotel staff. No reception (self checkin & out) room was dirty I had to clean the toilet when we arrived and the cups but there was no one to tell. Rang reception several times no one picks up. Went down whole area in darkness. You would have thought the hotel was closed. Dinning room closed breakfast in attached bistro, thank goodness this was lovely. "

"It is worth noting that we had mobility issues, requiring a walker, and the Alexandra provided a wonderful accommodation to meet our needs. The room (in particular the bathroom, with grab bars and a roll-in shower), the lobby, the dining areas, and the hotel in general were all easily accessible (despite the the hotel apparently having been built long before these things were considered important). The minor exceptions were that the room was a long ways from the elevator, with a couple of doors...
