"The Windmill Farmhouse was the perfect spot for our family stay over the long Geode Fest weekend. The interior is filled with comfy furniture and thoughtful touches that made it easy to relax after hiking all day. My son especially loved the oversized cushion chairs! The location is out-of-the-way and quiet, but the roads are well-kept, and getting in and out to Keokuk, Nauvoo, and so on was a breeze! The upstairs did get a bit toasty, but the window A/C cooled it down in a jiffy. We just turned it on after dinner, and it was perfectly chilled by bedtime. Highly recommend!"

"We were passing through on a motorcycle trip. The hotel was just as described. Nothing too fancy and no interaction with anyone while checking in or out. There was a cool looking bar area but it was closed for a private party. Not many dinner choices around the area however we took a beautiful stroll along the water to the marina where we had a drink and dinner. "
