The Bee Happy House can be found on a quiet side street just a few hundred yards from the beach in the quaint seaside town of Filey (recently voted Yorkshire’s best seaside resort) on the beautiful East Coast of Yorkshire. This pristine semi-detached house can accommodate up to seven guests, offering families a well-presented holiday home with the luxury of off-street parking and with amenities and the beach close at hand. The kitchen offers a host of modern appliances including a ceramic electric hob (brand new as of Nov 2024) and double oven, slow cooker and microwave. There is plenty of work top space for the preparation of a delicious picnic to enjoy on the beach, or for cooking up a traditional Yorkshire breakfast before heading out for the day. This holiday home does not have a dining room, however, there is a breakfast bar, plus a separate table which offers plenty of seating for seven. A utility room sits to the rear of the property and offers a really handy downstairs toilet and hand-basin, plus space for coat and boot storage as well as being a great area for dogs to sleep in. There is also the added bonus of a washing machine, dishwasher and counter-top freezer. Spend your evenings unwinding in the spacious living room, which features dual-aspect windows letting in the natural light and a 55” Smart TV. Deep filled sofas and an ornamental electric fire give the room a lovely cosy effect (fire does not provide heat). In the evening retire to the first floor to one of the three pristine bedrooms. The Bee Happy House offers a kingsize double, a twin and a bunk room with a double on the bottom and single on the top. All three rooms offer luxury soft furnishings, deep filled mattresses and Freeview TVs. The accommodation is completed by a house bathroom offering both a bath and a shower cubicle, plus a separate toilet with hand basin. Step outside and there is a small seating area which is bathed in sunlight throughout the afternoon.
A short walk will bring you to the centre of Filey where you can find a plethora of tea rooms, fish and chip restaurants, pubs and convenience stores. Or a 5-minute walk will take you straight to the beach. Filey offers 7 miles of golden sands that leads to Filey Brigg, a long narrow peninsula that stretches out to sea.
Further along the costs are the bustling seaside towns of Bridlington and Scarborough. Bird lovers will enjoy a visit to RSPB Bempton Cliffs where you can experience that edge of the world feeling atop towering cliffs and glimpse a plethora of seabirds and other wildlife. The Flamborough Heritage Coast and the stunning Yorkshire Wolds are just a short drive away and offer miles of walking and cycling opportunities. The stately homes of Burton Agnes Hall, Sledmere House and Gardens and Sewerby Hall and gardens offers packed calendars of events throughout the year. The North York Moors National Park, the historic walled city of York and the cultural port town of Hull are also under an hour’s drive away. This happy house is a splendid choice for a holiday.
