We had a very enjoyable stay. The room was clean, tidy, and well-presented, with comfortable beds and everything we needed. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and happy to help whenever we had questions. There was plenty of convenient parking, which made coming and going easy. We stayed at Potter's on our way to the islands to help with scientific research. The staff was outstanding in providing us with transportation, keeping our suitcases after we checked out, and sharing information and insights about Mackay and its history. The hotel is comfortable, quiet, a block from the coastal preserve and a short walk from Mackay's central business district. We highly recommend it!

If you have to go to Mackay this is the place to stay. I felt like I was a family member. The lively couple who takes care of the lodge were so nice and helpful. They helped me book a tour to the Whitsundays, gave me great recommendations on food and other activities. They even dropped me off at the airport.
