"I travelled to the hotel on a motorcycle through mountain roads in the hope of seeing the total solar eclipse on 12th August. The place impressed from the start, Welcoming receptionist and an aesthetic vibe unlike anywhere I've stayed, and the room merited the superior' tag - with a sumptuous bathroom, offering an unprecedented (for me) shower experience. Wonderful after the effort of getting there. A multinational group of guests enhanced the sense of being somewhere very special. The view on arrival evening was sunny and sublime, but alas a change of wind direction, as forecast, resulted in us being enveloped in cloud almost all the following day, including during the eclipse. Breakfast was freshly prepared and provided a wonderful selection of savoury and sweet, including fresh fruits. A heavy cold confined me to the immediate vicinity after walking down into Villaviciosa for food and some drink as the bar service was closed due to the staff being limited on eclipse evening, but our in-room refrigerators were kindly stocked with drinks to compensate. I wish, on reflection, that I had stayed a third night, not only because of the cold symptoms, but because it was such a relaxing setting. Another year, also, I would not choose months other than August for visiting the area again. Visit again I will, though!"

"Die Ferienwohnung ist sehr schön und sauber. Der Check-In war persönlich und die Gastgeber ausgesprochen freundlich und zuvorkommend. Sie haben kurzfristige Anfragen umgehend beantwortet und uns auf Wunsch zusätzliche Decken bereitgestellt, da pro Doppelbett jeweils eine nur eine große Decke vorhanden war und wir es einfach nicht gewohnt sind, unter einer zu schlafen. Die Küche war auch gut ausgestattet und hatte auch einen großen Geschirrspüler. Es ist ein sehr ruhiger Ort, an dem man gut entspannen kann. Wir hatten auch Zugang zur Waschküche, in der wir uns jederzeit frische Handtücher nehmen durften. Ich würde die Ferienwohnung weiterempfehlen.P.S. Bei FeWo.de war als Ausstattungsmerkmal auch eine Klimaanlage angegeben, die nicht vorhanden war. Glücklicherweise war es bei unserem Aufenthalt nicht extrem heiß, so dass es auch ohne aushaltbar war. Wir haben den Gastgeber darauf aufmerksam gemacht und er hat sich entschuldigt und uns mitgeteilt, dass er das nicht wusste und es anscheinend ein Fehler im System war. Er hat sich bedankt für den Hinweis und wollte es ändern."

"I had a wonderful stay in Villaviciosa. The apartment location is central with cafes, a bakery, grocery stores, restaurants, and 2 green spaces/parks all within 2-3 mins walk. There is plenty of street parking available. The apartment is clean and spacious enough for 2-3 people. It is managed by a management company, but upon arrival I was put in contact with the owner, Rosa Maria. She was extremely helpful, and very pleasant, and easy, to communicate with. Villaviciosa is a beautiful small town, very close to both Oviedo and Gijon. There are lots of beautiful beaches close by if you have a car. This is sidra country, and I would encourage everyone to dine at one of the many siderias in town, and sample the wonderful local food and sidra. "
