This unit is probably a great summer rental. The view is of a parking lot and mountains but not slopes. It is not ski out, as you have to walk down the road to get to the lift, which is difficult with kids. The upstairs queen bedroom had a broken bed frame and the mattress sinks to the center, so only one person could use the bed. My husband had to sleep on a twin mattress on the floor, which effected our privacy because we couldn’t close the door without standing the mattress up. There is no dresser to put your clothes. The vanity is tiny and doesn’t have much space to lay out toiletries. The shower and tub are large. The upstairs king was large and had a dresser, although the clothes from the previous guests were still in there. The kitchen was large and had all the needed pots/pans plus the basic spices. The coffee pot was broken and spilled everywhere. We were able to piece mill another one together with left over parts in the cabinets. The hand held can opener was broken so we had to get creative. The roku for the downstairs TV didn’t work and it’s not a smart TV, so stuck with poor reception channels. We would have utilized the upstairs loft tv but my father broke his foot and couldn’t climb the stairs. We did end up using the DVD player with the movies we brought with us. The master is large but lacks a dresser and the fireplace never turned on. The remotes for both fireplaces and tv were taped together but still falling apart. The dryer upstairs was very squeaky (like couldn’t hold a conversation) and it was not convenient to carry wet clothes downstairs to the garage to dry. There was an area to hang skis in the garage but nowhere to leave the boots inside so they weren’t cold in the morning. We purchased access to the Durango Mountain Resort but when we checked in they couldn’t locate our reservation due to our name being misspelled. The management company did answer our call quickly and helped us get our passes. Most importantly for us was the dust. Four of eight of us have asthma/allergies to dust. Usually it’s not a problem with meds, but there was dust on console tables, when we opened the blinds, sat on the couch, etc. two of us are headed home with upper respiratory infections. Again, it has great potential, but when you pay this much, the little things add up quickly. The summer months are probably better when you’re able to open windows, admire the waterfall, and hike around the mountain.
