Such a lovely place with a lot of history. Incredible staff and they helped me a lot, especially with getting back back-and-forth to the tank museum and the train station. Excellent breakfast highly recommend

The Red Lion is an old style country pub that served good quality evening meals and breakfast and is ideally situated to see the sights of the surrounding area.

The fan in the room was very much appreciated. A mini-fridge with freezer would have been helpful for storing temperature-sensitive medications.

There was plenty of parking. The room was clean, spacious and nice. The bathroom was a bit worn and there wad absolutely no water pressure, I could barely shower. Staff was nice. Sunday at 7pm the kitchen was already closed and Monday they only start breakfast at 8:30am so keep that in mind.

Very friendly staff & convenient location for our visit to the tank museum. Accommodation was adequate for our needs for couple nights stay. Unfortunately after a busy weekend & arriving Monday and few items on the menu were not available, however what we had was fresh, tasty & served hot. The rooms were clean & nice big fluffy towels. Breakfast was as big or as small as you wanted. A large car park. Although our room faced the main road we were not disturbed by traffic noise. A very pleasant stay & would recommend staying here.

My bedroom was slightly noisy over night, as it was adjacent to the kitchen with its freezers or other machines, working through the night. Really enjoyed my stay there, staff extremely helpful and building was very clean , inside and out . Would definitely stay again.

A great one night stay as a family with 2 children. Staff were all helpful and friendly and food was good for both dinner and breakfast. Would stay again and would definitely recommend.

Staff was friendly when helped us settle down, and bring breakfast basket to the room. Room space is still OK enough to put my lugguages and bags, and so far not bad though seems a bit old for furniture and devices. Windows need be closed otherwise there could be spiders crossing the dent, since it is 2nd floor and we are near a roof of meal bench. The biggest problem is the water tap of the shower tube, because it provided little hot water no matter how we rotated or twisted it. My wife failed to wash her hair with almost cold water, and I managed to wash myself using a "cool" , thin stream. We did not want to argue with the hotel, because it is very late and we must get up early to catch up next day schedule. Anyway, this room's device must be repaired, and I was surprised hotel did not detect it or no one ever complaint about.

Dorset stay

Hotel was a little old fashioned, but we enjoyed our stay, it was handy for our visit to the Dorset coast and friends, staff were friendly and accommodating, food was good, plenty of parking
