"My room was super clean and comfortable. They were constantly cleaning the kayaks and even cleaning the rope in the water. My balcony was even cleaner than I have ever seen at any hotel. The staff were so friendly. 10/10"

"We had a BEAUTIFUL view of the ocean from our 2nd floor room! The only thing that would have made it nicer would have been a balcony. Ya can’t have everything though. The shower was very nice, good shower pressure. There is a window in the living room which can be opened to hear the ocean!"

"I would highly recommend the Surf Shanty to anyone looking to stay in Dewey Beach. From the start, Andrea and the staff were very accommodating and on top of my check-in. There was ample parking on the property, and you are steps from the beach. The rooms were very clean, and they gave you all the toiletries and towels you needed. The air conditioning was super cold, and the beds were some of the best I've used at a hotel. Andre was awesome; he gave us lots of great recommendations for around the area. I wish there was some sort of closet or more storage but if thats my only complaint then so be it. Please keep in mind there is no elevator, so anyone who has difficulty using the stairs should request the first floor. When I come back to the area, I will definitely be staying here again."

"We enjoyed our stay, and the location was very convenient. It’s a short walk to the beach and very close to the Starboard. The kitchen is exceptionally large, well stocked, and great for cooking/gathering. The layout is centered around the kitchen, with a small seating area off to the side rather than a traditional living room.A couple of details would be helpful in the listing. The third bedroom with the two standard beds is actually an open loft vs. a bedroom accessed by narrow stairs, and may not be suitable for young children, older adults,"

SWEET 3 BR, DOG-FRIENDLY COTTAGE IN OCEAN BLOCK DEWEY - 24 West St.

"We had a great time together this week, plenty of room for everyone to sit around the table and play games in the kitchen, nice backyard meant we cooked on the grill most nights, living room was cozy and perfect for hanging out. Ceiling fan in every room meant even when it was ridiculously hot and humid outside the house stayed pleasant. One thing to know that is in no way the fault of the owners is don’t get upset when you look out and see someone parked in a spot right in front of the house. That’s a city thing, it’s legal for them to be there but there’s plenty of parking around it. We had 2 full size trucks and a car they fit just fine. I called the rental company and couple times about random things and they are amazing. Access to the beach is 4 houses down, very easy walk. Nice beach and not as crowded as some of the others. Walmart delivers to the house if you forget anything and there’s mini golf and restraints a short walk away. Rehoboth beach wasn’t walking distance for us bc I refuse to walk on a road with that much traffic with a stroller but it is possible. Check out time is earlier that most any I’ve ever stayed in and after being here 8 nights that’s not ideal but other than that I have no regrets about staying here. Thank you for sharing your home. It was a nice relaxing getaway for the 4th of July."
