「Clean building and rooms. Super friendly and helpful staff. Amenities are very basic, but the price per night is very reasonable. Close to lots of restaurants and the SHSU campus. Outdoor pool looked nice but we couldn't use it because it rained all weekend.」

「Coffee ran out quick. Once notice she got right on it. Biscuits and gravy were pretty good.」

「Breakfast was awful. Before 8am on a Tuesday morning they were out of eggs, and only had overcooked peppery sausage patties and a few biscuits. Most of the time when we passed the lobby there was no one around. The floor in our room must have been cleaned with a filthy mop. We could hear the people talking in the next room. 」

「Very helpful and friendly staff. Hotel is a little rundown, hall had a damp smell, remote control on TV did not work, missing tiles in the bathroom. It was clean and in a convenient location . 」

「We showed up got our room and the first room had bugs on the floor, room reeked of smoke and both beds had nasty stains on both of the beds. Went to take to the lady’s working the front desk for a different room went there and the next room on the other side of the property smelled more like smoke and had even more stains on both beds. 」

「TV did not work, in room phone did not work. Floor was very sticky. 」

「Had a wonderful stay. Host was super nice. There was a cord missing for the tv and they immediately brought it. Was very happy with the place. Beautiful scenery too. 」

「The Cowboy Hat House was quirky and kitschy in the very best way! The decor was extraordinarily well-thought out and executed, and the amenities were practically everything you would have at home, to include items for children. 」

「My family adored our stay on this lovely, serene property. We spent a lot of time at the creek. My kids loved being able to pet the goats and see the chickens. It was very peaceful and restful. We made a fire in the fire pit each night and told stories. It was easy to cook on the little cook stove. Everything was clean and we had all we needed. Very thoughtfully set up cabin. The hostess is always available if needed. We loved it. 」

「This place was everything I needed for a short stay. Cozy little nook, I enjoyed the layout. The bed and sheets were not as soft/comfortable as other places I’ve stayed. And the AC was quite loud.. hard to sleep without ear plugs. But otherwise this spot was perfect for me. 」
