"What we liked most is that it was not some new, polished place. It was a simple room, clean and comfortable. They had a gravel parking lot. As I said, it was older and simple. It was well managed and maintained. The staff was friendly and helpful."

"Just returned from a wonderful stay at Chez Mathilde near Verdun. Annie, our host, was absolutely lovely — so welcoming and friendly, and she even treated us to delicious homemade goodies. The house itself was amazing, full of character with beautiful traditional features and immaculate furnishings throughout. It really felt like a home away from home. The area is fantastic too, with so much history to explore, especially the WWI sites nearby. We’d highly recommend Chez Mathilde to anyone looking for a charming and memorable stay! "I would love to give it 5 stars but due to the fact that the heat was not working was really bad specially when you are with an infant with you I literally had put his jacket on in the middle of the night because the room was freezing mind you we had a small heater on but in vain. I wish we had been informed of this situation before we arrived in order to weight our options or not. But besides that the receptionist was very nice and helpful to us during our stay."
