「The staff were very friendly and the hotel was well maintained」

「No ac, no pool or hot tub , dirty rooms worse ive ever seen. Rude staff, just a horrible place 」

「I took my kids to a swim meet in Kenora On. The bathroom had dried urine on the bottom and all around the toilet. The bathtub was unclean and I while washing it pubic hair was coming off the shower curtain. I wiped the bathtub and the cloth was black. The vanity counter was dirty as well and the sink had dirt all near the top. Red and Black dirt was very disgusting. Everything was dusty! I had went down to the reception area and showed him pictures of the cloth from cleaning up . Manager said...

「The bathroom could use a towel hook. The room could use a real coffee machine instead of a press coffee unit which had no directions on how to use it. It would also help to have a paper guide for the tv to let us know what channels were available. Also less pillows and maybe an extra blanket tucked away in case of cool night」

「Staff were exceptional! Breakfast was small but really quite good. The room was spacious and clean. The air conditioner was extremely loud. I would stay there again for sure. 」

「Breakfast was excellent. Hot and delicious. Parking with our dog was really convenient as was the area behind the hotel for walking the dog. 」

「Room was fine but being in the lower level, we could hear people walking around upstairs which prevented falling to sleep early. And the plumbing was very loud. Otherwise good enough for a night or two. 」

「Everything was good here. Staff were accommodating to provide a ground floor room which made unloading and loading of the vehicle. Very good restaurant right across the street from the hotel.」

「It was very smooth to check in. The room was fairly big for two people. Nicely cleaned and was close to almost everything!! On top of those, the price was very reasonable. There was not a thing to complain about. We would love to stay at this motel when we visit Kenora next time!!」

「As of May 2026 the hotel is undergoing renovations. Serious renovations. The room was finished and clean with excellent work showing, but the elevator is nonfunctional and the floors have to be reached on stairs stripped of flooring, carpets, and even paint. If you have difficulty climbing 48 stairs to reach the rooms on the second floor, you may want to spend your stay in Kenora at a different Hotel. 「Really great interior live edge and hand milled wood and very friendly host and dog!」

「A nice little spot with comfy beds for the night. Booked the family suite and there was no dish soap, the dehumidifier was full and when emptied the basin was full of mildew. The smart TV was missing its cord, setting up the source was difficult as well. The dust factor on the toaster was next level but at first sight, the place did it's job.」

「Really wish they would have actual cutlery and plates for breakfast and not use plastic.」

「At 3:30am some intoxicated folks couldn’t get into their room so they started banging on doors to let them in. There is no front desk staff after 12 midnight so no one could help them. This happened again at 4:45 with the door banging. At 6 am a Sisco transport truck doing a delivery for the hotel right outside the room. Needless to say not a great sleep at The Howey. 」

「Just normal Hotel 6 type motel beside highway. Truck Noise but good place to stay over. Quiet except truck sound~ Room is exactly as pictures, old but no complaints for stay overnight」
