423 Weiss Knob Ski Rd near Davis WV in Canaan Valley...TrAiL SiDe/Garagemahal lodge adjacent to White Grass Ski Touring Center and Cafe in scenic Canaan Valley, WV is run by Chip Chase and Laurie Little. Two bedroom furnished, sleeps five w/ fold out bed, full kitchen and bath with tub/shower, washer/dryer, and 2 porches. 2nd story and steps are required, 1025 sq. ft. apartment with south facing windows and forested mountainside views. Indoor garage parking. Spring water, warm forced air gas heat and portable air conditioner for the few hot midsummer heat spells. Ceiling fans, large screened windows, and insulated shades help keep the house cool and comfy. The house is very well insulated for year around comfort. We are at the end of a quiet rural road leading to the National Forest and very private although adjacent to the Chase home. Seasonal access to the WG sauna. Secluded 8 acre reserve with water falls, small native trout stream, and shelter within an old growth forest. Streamside trails throughout the property as well as over 100 kilometers hiking trails locally. Endless recreational opportunities in this outdoor paradise. Two night minimum. Pets allowed for $40 cleaning fee. We have two friendly dogs and an amazingly cute cat. They all three occasionally bark yet we are sensitive to your peace and quiet. VISA/MC accepted. * Walking distance to an Appalachian bubbling sand spring.

Perfect Getaway

We LOVED our stay here, and so did our dog! The general area is fabulous & you can eat/shop in Thomas or Davis. The natural wonders are bountiful, and there is plenty of time to relax. We'll be back!

Amazing rental and setting!

We can’t say enough about what a fabulous experience this was. It is a gorgeous, peaceful setting with out the door access to a beautiful waterfall and great hiking.

Amazing location!

We stayed here for a weekend in March with our kids (5 & 8) and had a blast. It's a great spot with lots of land to explore. We found some really cool waterfalls behind the house in the woods. The snow season was over so we missed XC skiing but we definitely will be back. Close to Blackwater Falls park and the town of Davis.

Peaceful and beautiful

We had a wonderful stay… the property was quiet and scenic with trail’s connecting to the house. A small waterfall to walk to and the facilities were great! Very accommodating and welcoming hosts! Clean and fully stocked.

Best place in Canaan

We’ve come to Canaan Valley for years, and this is our favorite place to stay. The house is perfect, and the location can’t be beat— close to the Sods, right by Whitegrass, with trails right out the door. The house itself is snug and comfortable— the beds are great, the shower is hot, and the kitchen has everything you need. Great getaway!

Quiet, clean, comfortable Tucker County house

This is a great house to come home to after a long day of hiking! It’s clean and inviting and has everything you may need! Great location, quiet and secluded but close to Dolly Sods trailhead, bird sanctuary, and the adorable town of Davis!

Great weekend getaway

My family and I were in Canaan Valley for a NICA race. The race was located at Canaan resort property which is a very short drive from this home. This home was very clean, well maintained and very nicely decorated . Perfect for 4/5 people. We enjoyed the large deck every evening/morning and the walks we took down Weiss Knob Ski road were incredible.

Whitegrass magic

Best place in Canaan Valley! We’ve been coming here for years and plan to come back again. Chip and Laurie are great hosts and are very responsive, the beds are comfortable, the shower is hot, and the proximity to Whitegrass and Dolly Sods can’t be beat.

Beautiful Property, Convenient Location

Thank you for the great stay. It was close to Spruce Knob, Seneca Rocks, Blackwater Falls and the town of Davis. Very quick walk to a beautiful stream and waterfall on the property, which my almost 2 year old loved playing in. Would definitely love to come back!

Peaceful house in very nice location

We are four seniors from two families, we stayed in Garagemahal for two nights. We are really enjoyed the house and beautiful rural scenery nearby. Thanks the owner of house to provide cleaning and nice rooms , simple and convenient check-in and check-out. High recommend and 5 stars for everything.

The garagemahal was the perfect spot to enjoy a long weekend with friends. It is close to the state parks, hiking, kayaking and great music/restaurants. The big deck and outside fire pit are a definite plus. Chip and Laurie are great hosts and were super responsive to all our needs and questions. We would definitely stay here again!

Wonderful WV

The house is in a great location to visit all the attractions in the area of the Canaan Valley of West Virginia. If you like hiking there are plenty of trails nearby. The house is pleasant, comfortable and well equipped. The owners Laurie and Chip are next door if you need any assistance. The mountain views are spectacular!

West Virginia peace

We have stayed in many VRBO properties - not all good, that's for sure - but Garagemahal was a close to perfect as it gets. Responsive hosts, hiking paths on the property, peaceful/quiet evenings, comfy beds and easy access to everything Tucker County, WV has to offer. We will definitely return!

Secluded woodland get away

This has been one of our top vacation rentals. Everything we needed was supplied indoors and the beds were very comfortable. The house was relaxing and the kitchen well stocked. The location is amazing and in the middle of the woods with trails leading right off the property. The nearby hike up to the panoramic views from Bald Knob was invigorating. Chip and Laurie were very responsive and gracious hosts!

Amazing!

This was truly a home away from home. Perfect for our baby and family. Close to lots of activities but far away enough to enjoy the quiet of nature and some solitude. The house itself had everything we needed and lots of nice little touches. Thanks to Chip and Laurie for everything. We will definitely be back!
