The Grand Lodge amenities are managed by the building's HOA, not by Traverse. They are typically open year-round, but the building can close them for maintenance or events without notice. We do not offer refunds for short-term amenity closures since they are outside our control.

The Neighborhood:
Mt. Crested Butte is a small ski village built around the resort base, three miles north of the historic town of Crested Butte. The Grand Lodge sits at the base of Crested Butte Mountain Resort, with the Red Lady Express lift, ski school, restaurants, and shops a short walk from the front door.

✔ Butte & Co. Ski Rental & Storage — same building complex
✔ Free Mountain Express shuttle to downtown Crested Butte — stops steps from the door
✔ Crested Butte Nordic trails and Snodgrass hiking trailhead — 5–8 min drive
In summer and fall the Red Lady Express runs for hikers and bikers, wildflowers fill the meadows around Snodgrass and Washington Gulch, and downtown Crested Butte hosts art galleries, breweries, and the Saturday farmers market on Elk Avenue.
Getting Around:
Most guests bring a car for trailhead access, side trips to Monarch, and groceries at Clark's Market in CB town. The Grand Lodge has a free outdoor lot (one parking pass per booking) with EV charging.
A car-free trip is possible: fly into Gunnison, take Alpine Express to Mt. Crested Butte, and use the free Mountain Express shuttle for everything in town and downtown CB.
✔ Free outdoor parking, 1 pass per booking, EV charging on-site
✔ Free Mountain Express shuttle, ~15-min frequency, stops steps from the door
✔ Gunnison-Crested Butte Regional Airport (GUC) — ~35–45 min drive
✔ Denver International (DEN) — ~4.5 hr drive
Other Things to Note:

Interaction with Guests:
We're a small, professional Crested Butte property management team. Self check-in by keypad means you can arrive any time after 4 PM without coordinating with us, and we're available by message for the duration of your stay if anything comes up — broken appliance, lost keypad code, restaurant recommendation, lift status. We respond fastest by message or text.
We don't drop in unannounced. The Grand Lodge HOA handles building amenities and common areas; we handle the studio.

The room was very nice. It was hard to navigate through everything in the guide to finally find the exterior door code under the pool tab. It would be nice to have that in check-in info. Very dog friendly facility was a huge plus!
Great place for the price and very comfortable beds! We went for Fall Break so a lot of restaurants were closed but Gunnison is just 30 minutes away. We would recommend this place for 4 or less people as it gets a bit crowded with both beds (one is a murphy bed) but it was perfect for what we wanted. Thank you!
Decent property but it was an overall crowded weekend and hot tubs were too full. The cafe staff is rude but the ski valet, Ignacio was wonderful. Rooms need cream and sugar for coffee station. Good TV choices since we stayed in at night. Beds VERY comfy.

Gross College Party at The Grand Lodge
The Studio itself was nice and clean and had everything we needed. However, the Grand Lodge staff were unfriendly and unhelpful, and the pool and hot tub were closed when we arrived because they had been trashed by college students treating the Grand Lodge like their personal Christmas Break party. The pool was my main reason for booking as my daughter loves to swim and she was very disappointed it was closed. There was a used toilet brush sitting in the hallway that my 4-year-old picked up before I could stop her. There was a partial joint and lots of trash around the pool and hot tub when it finally was available the next morning, and not completely packed with college kids getting trashed. When my daughter and I tried to use the steam room, a hammered girl came in, fell on the floor, and stood there bleeding everywhere. The staff did nothing about trying to keep the college kids in check, and we were up all night with drunk people loudly talking in the hallway. I would not recommend booking this place during any kind of holiday break if you want to enjoy it with your family.
