The Western Way, a long-distance walking trail, can be joined at Maam and will take you to the ancient site of Mámean. Local fishing lakes include Lough Corrib, Lough Mask and Lough Nafooey. Cong village and Ashford Castle are a 15-minute drive away. Leenane and the coastline at Killary Harbour can also be reached within a 15-minute drive. A little further afield are the larger towns of Ballinrobe, Westport, Oughterard and Clifden. These bigger towns can all be reached within a 30-40 minutes' drive.

Two bedrooms have double beds, and two bedrooms have twin beds, sleeping 8 persons in total. The bedrooms offer wonderful countryside, mountain and lake views, or hill and woodland views.
