Iguana Azul is well-kept, with clean facilities. Community room has lots of info about local things to do, and a big fridge. Next door at their sister hotel (La Casa de Café) breakfast was large, fresh, and tasty, plus they had a menu for later in the day. Located just a few blocks from the lovely Central Park.
A great place to stay in Copan Ruinas. The owners take great care of their guests and in their properties. The hostel was well maintained with four private rooms and two six bed dorms, giving guests a chance to meet other travellers. The shared baths (3) and showers (3) were very clean.
The private room itself was very nice, providing a cool place to rest in the evening after a very hot afternoon visiting the ruins. The staff also provided daily cleaning of the room.
Next door at the guest house (owned by the same couple), guests could have reasonably priced meals. I had the "big breakfast" each morning which included a nice plate of fresh fruit and free refills of coffee.
We were a group of 9, and the dorm rooms worked out great. I liked the way the showers and toilets were situated. Each one private. With a nice area where you could do laundry and wash your hands. The restaurant and sitting room next door were nice. The view from the eating area was beautiful view of the mountains overlooking the canyon.
Bright, quiet rooms. Nice view from terrace. Great coffee to start the morning with exceptional service. Nicely planted garden with tables. Easy walk into town.
The Studio was very clean and cute. It was fun to stay in the loft and very nice to have our own kitchen and living area.
The mattress was very comfortable, even though it was an adventure to reach it. 😊
The couch could have been a little bigger and more comfortable.
It would have been nice to have slightly more privacy when it came to the toilet. It is very strange to have the toilet so close to the kitchen.
Overbooking. Initially trying to just drive us away. The entire town was full and this was the last one we found. The front desk was claiming not able to speak English thus refused to communicate. Pushed them to find one available for us which was claimed newer with air conditioning at a higher rate. When we arrived the one, Beracah, they reserved, the staffs there responded not there but pulled us to another one, Stella Hostel, which was crappy, unclean, narrow, crowded and old (although the staff was nice). And it was another 45 minutes taken including the traffic. The condition was too terrible so we had to find another nearest available hotel half hour drive away out of town. Considering fully booked they should have closed booking on this platform yet wasting people’s efforts and time to come and to move around. Totally not qualified to be listed as an hazard to the platform.
This is one of the nicest hostels I have ever stayed in. We then switch to two nights in the adjacent B&B because we needed more nights abs it too was wonderful. Howard, the owner is friendly and extremely helpful. His staff is wonderful. Safety cleanliness and comfort we're all perfect and the gardens and patio are beautiful! Highly recommend to all travelers and I hope to return someday.
