You have all of our home to yourselves, although you will be visited by ducks, geese and swans at times.
There is a wealth of outdoor activities available on the doorstep including water sports, bike hire, archery, bird watching and golf. You can even spend a day at the beach complete with pedalos, picnic area and gelato. After all that activity you can treat yourself to a soothing spa experience at the De Vere Hotel, just across the road.
It is in the heart of the Cotswold Water Park, and full details about the area can be found on their website.
Five miles from the lakes is historic Cirencester, capital of the south Cotswolds. As the Roman Corinium it became the second largest Roman town in Britain. Discover the history and treasures of Cirencester at the Corinium museum or, just a street away, pay a visit to St John the Baptist, the largest of the areas ‘Wool’ churches. Cirencester is a lively town with outdoor and indoor marketplaces and a great range of independent shops and vibrant cafés and places to eat.
Away from the towns there is plenty to explore; the glorious gardens at Hidcote, Snowshill and Kiftsgate to name but three, the Farm and Wildlife Parks and the wonderful walking at Cirencester Park, on Minchinhampton Common and in the Windrush Valley and easy access to the A419 makes the lakes an excellent base if you want to explore further afield.
Perfect location for the Cheltenham Festivals, especially Gold Cup week
