This was not my first time staying at the MGM Grand. I love this hotel, but this trip was VERY disappointing. Arrived on Friday. We were able to get our room early, I was super appreciative; however, we get in the room and it smells like sewer! The room had zero running water and the p-trap and shower drains were dry allowing that sewer smell to seep in. I called concierge, Charles answered, and said he was not aware of a water issue as this was a newly renovated wing of the hotel and would find out and get back to me in 10 minutes. 20 minutes go by, Charles doesn’t get back to me, so I call back. I explained the situation again to a female (I forget her name), I could tell she was trying to make up a reason for damage control saying they choose different floors weekly or monthly (she wasn’t clear on the frequency) and turn the water off. It usually is only a few hours. She asked me if I wanted to switch rooms, I said I’d give it a few hours. The water was turned on after a few hours. Then on Monday morning, starting at 9am, there was banging and power tool sounds coming from the unit above us. It lasted for about 2 hours. I called the concierge 3 times and couldn’t get thru to anyone. They neglected to let us know, as paying guests there to sleep in and relax on vacation, that we would be abruptly awakened with non stop construction noise first thing in the morning. For the amount of money paid to stay here, there is a responsibility to inform your patrons of stuff like this
