The most positive aspect of my experience with the Comfort Inn, Summerville was the front desk staff. She was very friendly and helpful and had no control over the condition of the rooms on this property. The first room smelled of urine and the ac unit was visibly detaching from the wall leaving a large open gap around the unit itself. The 2nd room I was given smelled cleaner but had bugs crawling over the bathroom floor.

The location was not bad and for the price you would at least expect a decent room. And not only was it outdated, but the biggest issue with the property was the bug infestation issue! Cockroaches came out late at night and got everywhere. So needless to say, it wasn't the best sleep. Also they have a free breakfast, but I didn't even bother eating since who knows if those insects got in there. Very disappointed. BTW, im normally very positive in all reviews but I should have read comments cause apparently I wasn't the first and won't be the last to stay in a room that's bug infested.

It is was great rooms with great staff. It would’ve been five stars, but the air conditioner was leaking so the room was quite musty. Sure they will get it fixed although.

I needed a sister's week. The amenities help me decide to stay at this wonderful hotel. Breakfast included sausage, eggs, waffles, cereal, yogurt, fresh apples, juice and coffee to name some of the items offered. So a variety to choose from. The rooms were clean, the property well maintained, and the staff was a delight. I did have an issue upon arrival, but the staff solved it quickly and efficiently. I will definitely stay there for my next trip to Summerville.

There were sugar ants in the bed, Dust stuck to the popcorn ceiling, and mildew on the walls. The staff was very nice but they could not get rid of the ants even after changing the bed several times. The hotel is in need of a remodel. We stayed at the Confrot Inn Suites ext door in the past and did not have these issues.

The room was very nice- 2 full beds and a sitting area with a sofa. Looks like there have been many updates- new carpet, new flooring in bathroom, very clean. Some of the furniture wasn’t brand new but it was very comfortable. The staff was very nice.

I ended up not staying here - the rooms were very dirty. - When I complained at front desk the Woman working that night explained to me that the hotel is typically used by construction workers and and truckers working in the area and they are a 1 star hotel. I asked to see another room and it was just as bad. She was more than willing to refund me my money and suggest other hotels in the area. The woman, Delsea, was very helpful and understanding of our situation but unfortunately she works at a bad hotel.

I stayed here almost a week, while visiting the Charleston area. Summerville is about 30 min north of Charleston so keep that in mind if you are doing tourist things or heading to the beaches. The room was clean and had everything I needed, hot and cold breakfast items provided each morning (and extensive breakfast hours - no need to get up too early). Parking is free and I never had trouble getting a spot. This hotel is close to I-26 and also very convenient to numerous chain restaurants, Walmart, etc if you forgot anything in packing. Staff was always friendly and helpful.

So I’m a pretty tough critic and I don’t hand out five stars very often. I’m also not one for staying at comfort Inn because of their reputation for not being clean. I took a chance on this one in Somerville hoping that it would be better. While it was surprisingly well, I didn’t give it a five star only because of the smell that I encountered on the floor in which I was staying as it had an aroma of marijuana. The rooms were clean. The amenities were good. The beds were mediocre in terms of comfort. Most of these comfort Inns are dated. This one was as well, but it was kept up pretty well perhaps someday with face lifts and a little more attention to detail they’ll earn the five stars.
