Carmen6 nights3.5 star property8.6/10 - Excellent (1,001 reviews)"There is nothing to do except drink and or gamble drinks were expensive. There’s no pool or any other extra activities. There’s nothing close by. Food was expensive. I did find a 7-11 type store about 5 blocks away and a Burger King. There was a pizza spot about a block and half, really good."Reviewed November 6, 2026Roundtrip • Tokyo (TYO) - San José (SJO)NRT - SJO • 1 stop SJO - NRT • 2 stops￥591,357￥435,629found 19 hours agoper traveler - Apartotel & Suites Villas del Rio

"This is very quiet secluded location located about 1 mile in on a dirt road that really is not near anything. If you're looking for peaceful get away from everyone and everything location this is exactly right for you. The restaurant has a great view overlooking the lake but unfortunately the staff notified me that the lake is owned entirely by the electric generating company and that you're not allowed to use the lake in any way shape or form. The staff was very helpful and most of...

"Excellent colonial-style building with incredible natural surroundings, but the hotel looks neglected. The room was nice and spacious, but the bathroom smelled awful, like a sewer. I had to buy bleach and use it, but it didn't get rid of the smell. There was a leak in the sink and mold between the tiles and under the sink. "El personal fue muy amable, pero tuvimos problemas con la televisión por cable, prácticamente no funcionó durante nuestra estadía, la habitación estaba ok, pero la ducha era casi imposible de regular, o tiraba agua muy caliente o tiraba agua muy helada, el desayuno no era rico y los plátanos maduros eran servidos helados, el resto si tenía una temperatura adecuada. En general el resto estuvo bien, solo con las observaciones antes mencionadas."
